This is a sweet hotel in an older home with wood floors, furniture, and lace curtains in the windows. Our room was good size for three people considering it is an older house. Near the main tourist attractions without being in a touristy area- located in a good working class neighborhood. Many local residents appear to be migrants from other...

A very nice hotel, small and clean. It is located very close to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The room was spacious enough, hospitable, equipped with all you need: lots of clean towels, slippers, shampoo, soap and shower gel. Breakfast was more than complex, I couldn't even taste all the goodies. Many kinds of bread, cheese, sausage, eggs, vegetables,...

We recently stayed at the Ottoman Elegance Hotel in Istanbul. The Pros were as follows: It was cheap and provided breakfast, which was the standard Turkish fare for breakfast (I.e meats, cheeses, breads, jams, olives etc). The beds were comfortable. The rooms okay in size - good for sleeping and using as a base. The staff were brilliant, nothing was...

Istanbul was a dream and Ottoman Elegance Hotel a facilitator. Location perfect except for the walk up and down to Sultanahmet, the tourist hub. Clean, hygiene conforms to European norms. Staff is helpful, books your ferries, tickets for cultural forays etc. Good breakfast. Zeroed in on hotel through trip advisor. Thanks

Very conveniently located, away from the crowd but very close to the waterfront and the Blue Mosque. The area is not very tourist-y, which we appreciated, and has plenty of small places to eat with the locals. The hotel was very clean, with spacious and nicely decorated rooms. We had a giant bathroom with a big tub, which was welcome...

We've chosen this hotel because of the cheap price and the good location in the centre of the city, but it offers so much more. We were really satisfied, everything was perfect. Really nice, clean rooms, nice staff, who are always helpful, when you need an advice. The breakfast was also very good, with lots of different things. If I'm...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
