I chose this hotel because of the reviews I've read in in TripAdvisor and it was really a great hotel. The best thing about this hotel is it's LOCATION. I rate it as an above average hotel putting in mind the room rate and the same level hotels. I strongly recommend this hotel if you don't already know your hotel...

Excellent stay at this hotel - extremely convenient location - everything within walking distance and a great view of Aya Sofia from the terrace. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Very friendly cat (when it was awake!).

A great deal for the money. The hotel is really conveniently located; just steps from Saint Sophia. It's got a rooftop deck from which you have an amazing view of that spectacular building. They give you free breakfast, which, while not the most exciting thing you've ever had, really isn't bad. The rooms are small, but clean. You probably won't...

We stayed at the Zeynep Sultan Hotel on our last night in Turkey. The hotel picked us up at the airport free of charge and the staff were very friendly and accomodating. Our rooms were on the first floor and as other previous reviewers have stated you could definitely hear a lot through the walls and we didn't get much...

I stayed at the Zeynep with my boyfriend for 5 nights in August of 2006 and we loved it, the view from the terrace is unbelievable, the breakfast is very complete and the rooms are comfortable and very clean. Much more that you would expect for the price. The owner is very friendly,as well as the whole staff. It was...

The Zeynep Sultan is a cosy and warm hotel in a very nice and quite location in the heart of Sultanahmet, very close to Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque and to Aya Sofia. The rooms are a bit small but absolutely clean and very comfortable. The owner and his staff (included the big red&white cat waiting for us at the...

The Zeynep Sultan Hotel was perfect. It was incredibly clean. It had a perfect location in the historic Sultanhamet area (steps away from the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia), and the service was impeccable. Just some examples of the amazing service: - A driver from the hotel picked us up from the airport free of charge. - A hotel...

This hotel is a fantastic value! We paid 59 euro per night for a double room, and it was worth every penny. The location is among the best in Istanbul - few minutes walk to all the major attractions (Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, etc) and 2 blocks away from a tram stop, yet tucked away on a quiet street away...

Great location, terrific views from the roof top terrace, great price, amd some staff quite attentive. So what's not to like? First, this place is very noisy; were street noises not enough, there is NO insultation (did Marc Cohn write "Paper Walls" while staying here?). But the issue that placed me into orbit was the wonderful sign posted in the...

Hotel is fairly new at a really convenient location. Rooms are small, but clean. The bathroom is poorly lit (if you're trying to put make up on) , but the shower is excellent with strong water pressure. Vanities are very clean. Breakfast was good, but don't expect a lot of variety from day to day if your staying longer. The...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The cradle of civilization...Turkey...From Hitites to Urartus, Phrygians to Lycians, from Romans to Seljuks...They all lived here. A city that gave birth to and fostered three glorious empires...The East Roman empire, the Byzantine empire and the Ottoman empire...Once the capital city of these empires, Istanbul is still alive and breathing a mystical blend of air, weary of the contemprary urbanization and cultural clashes. Zeynep Sultan Hotel is where you will blend a magical potion from a Roman hippodrome, an Egyptian obelisque, a Byzantine Church and an Ottoman Grand Bazaar. And maybe you will top it with the Blue Mosque or the Topkapi Palace... ... more   less
