Hotel Grand Gulsoy in Sehzadebasi, Lalehi district of Istanbul is very centrally located. The Shezade mosque is directly opposite the street from it. The early morning call to prayer for the faithful was quite melodious. Other mosques that are within walking distance from the hotel are: Sultan Ahmet Fatih mosque, Suleymaniye mosque, Rustem Pasha mosque, Yeni mosque. So also are...

This hotel promises a lot from the outset with a well presented exterior and lobby in a location that is walkable from the main tourist areas, and friendly welcoming staff with quite good english. However after scratching the surface there were lots of things that leave it below the 4 star standard. Our "double" room was actually 2 single beds...

Excellent location - opposite to what I think is the most beautiful Camii in Istanbul. Rooms were of good size with no issues. Free parking underground and also has on site gym to pump them arms before you stroll in to centre of Istanbul. Beautiful, grand hotel with friendly staff. Just remember though if you are to park your car...

We enjoyed every minute here & in Istanbul. A great breakfast, great staff & service. Great location. This is our second visit to this hotel, first in April 2011. We will be back here again of course. Hope that you keep the level of service.

The location was great in that it was not in usual Blue Mosque tourist area....close to the university. But also very close to mosque if one does not like hearing call to prayer early. The hotel room was ok and fitness room so so, but there is a steam room and a pool. Some decent affordable non tourist restaraunts near...

Great location, roomy, restaurant available, staff very pleasant and attempt to communicate with you. Negatives: not all staff spoke English and mosque across the street with loud speaker messages at 6 am daily.

The location is terrific bc you can easily walk to the Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace as well as the metro to take you to either airports and to other parts of the city (Taksim Square, etc). The free wi-fi was fast and there's an in-room hot water kettle plus safe, which is very convenient. My room...

The location was awesome being near to two train stations going to all the "must see" places. The breakfast buffet included was good indeed. It was the room that was a let down, it was cramped and the air conditioning switch was useless since the system was centrally controlled. The hotel itself did not look how it was in their...

We stayed here as part of a tour package. The hotel, right across from a large mosque, was located within easy reach of the Grand Bazaar, restaurants, the tram, etc. It was exceptionally warm for mid-October, but the system had been turned over to heat, so it was a bit uncomfortable for sleeping. Meals, breakfast and dinner, were all buffets,...

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighbourhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighbourhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
