We arrived at the Daphne Hotel at 11pm after a long day of travel, only to be informed that the person who had stayed in 'our room' previously had decided to stay an extra night, therefore there was no room available for us. They took us to an awful smoky smelling apartment the next block over for one night and...

the staff here was rude and messed up basically everything possible, from unlocking my hotel door while i was in my underwear, to calling my room at 5am because they got me mixed up with the room that wanted a wakeup call, to just general rudeness. location is good but there are tons of great parts of istanbul where you...

This was my second time staying here (last summer as well), was here this time for six days. Very cozy, charming boutique hotel. Since the hotel is pretty new, all the rooms, bathrooms, and overall facilities are really in top condition and not worn. I have stayed in several highly rated hotels in the Sultanahmet area (all more expensive), and...

A wonderful hotel in a great part of sultanamet. The hotel is situated in the more quiet parts yet close to everything you want to see. Great value for money and a fantastic view from the roof terrace. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and also very professional.

We came to Daphne after staying at another hotel. The staff at the Daphne are very nice and friendly, speak English well and are helpful. The hotel itself is clean overall. It's in a good location in Sultanahmet and, from the roof, you can see the Bosphorous. The breakfast isn't anything to write home about. It's the usual breakfast presented...

"I spent an unforgettable vacation (7 days), together with my wife, in Istanbul, in June 2009 and the Daphne Hotel was a perfect host. The room (401) was very clean and large, the bathroom was also very large and the sight we could enjoy from the room was EXTRAORDINARY. The breakfast was very good and diversified (the filter coffee’s poor...

The Hotel Daphne is a Jewel in the Crown of Istanbul. The location makes it ideal to explore the major sites in Sulthanahmet. Our first floor corner room had an amazing view of the ships at anchor waiting for pilotage up the Bosphorus to the Black Sea. It was a magical scene at night. The roof top bar and restaurant...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
