A wonderful hotel in a great part of sultanamet. The hotel is situated in the more quiet parts yet close to everything you want to see. Great value for money and a fantastic view from the roof terrace. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and also very professional.

We came to Daphne after staying at another hotel. The staff at the Daphne are very nice and friendly, speak English well and are helpful. The hotel itself is clean overall. It's in a good location in Sultanahmet and, from the roof, you can see the Bosphorous. The breakfast isn't anything to write home about. It's the usual breakfast presented...

"I spent an unforgettable vacation (7 days), together with my wife, in Istanbul, in June 2009 and the Daphne Hotel was a perfect host. The room (401) was very clean and large, the bathroom was also very large and the sight we could enjoy from the room was EXTRAORDINARY. The breakfast was very good and diversified (the filter coffee’s poor...

The Hotel Daphne is a Jewel in the Crown of Istanbul. The location makes it ideal to explore the major sites in Sulthanahmet. Our first floor corner room had an amazing view of the ships at anchor waiting for pilotage up the Bosphorus to the Black Sea. It was a magical scene at night. The roof top bar and restaurant...

Last week we stayed in Daphne hotel. We were booked to standard room. Upon arrival we checked the other suite room and preferred to stay in the standard room, because in the suite we looked was the moldy smell in the bathroom. Note there are No balconies in the standard rooms. The room is light, spacoius enough with conditioner. Breakfast...

We have just enjoyed a great weekend in Istanbul staying at the Daphne Hotel. The hotel is very near to the main attractions in the old city and also close to the tram line for the easy exploration of places further away. The room was modern and comfortable, reception staff were very helpful, and a good choice of food and...

This hotel is a short walk from the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, and Aya Sofia. Stayed here with a friend when my first choice hotel was booked. Room was a good size for Sultanahmet area. Nice rooftop patio, restaurant and friendly staff. Transfer rates to and from airport better than most. Rooms have a safe. Clean and economical.

I stayed several days in the Daphne in Istanbul. The staff were very generous with their time and advice, friendly to a fault. The Daphne is very close to many sites that are a "must see". I highly recommend the Daphne.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
