Had a great time here. The guests and staff were amazing and would go well out of their way to help us. Thank you Tugay, Kiwi, Junior, Mustafa, Ahmed and the two Russian ladies who made breakfast every morning.

This is truly one of the best hostels I've stayed in. The prices are real reasonable and the rooms are private, even if you share with other people. The beds have curtains for the days you want to sleep in. The people that work there is just crazy friendly and the bar on top of the hostel is awesome. It's... More

Firstly, the hostel is in an amazing location! The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia are all right around the corner and it is also a convenient area to access any mode of public transportation (although its an extremely walk-able area). The staff were the soul of the hostel. All of them were incredibly helpful and friendly and fun. There was always... More

I was really impressed with this guesthouse. The staff were brilliant in every respect. Incredibly helpful and friendly. The bedrooms are clean and the bunks have a curtain to cover the front allowing a little bit of privacy, which is a nice touch for a hostel! The room I had was en-suite and the shower was just fantastic...Better than I... More

Bahaus has a great location and very competitive prices. It has a fun, funky atmosphere and friendly staff who were able to help us find cool things to do around the city. Beautiful rooftop views! My only diss would be the noise--during the week night it was pretty loud from the bar upstairs and late night pub crawl. Would have... More

I came to Bahaus planning to stay 3 nights and ended up here for a week! After being on the road for quote some time it felt so nice to be in a hostel that feels like it was started by actual backpackers. All the little details like privacy curtains on each bunk, good sized lockers, individual power points and... More

Bahaus Hostel was probably the best part of my Istanbul experience. It has a superb location: many major tourist attractions like the Blue Mosque, Arasta Bazaar, etc are just around the corner; the rooftop terrace offers a beautiful view overlooking the Marmara Sea. The facilities are good - free breakfast, free wifi (I was able to comfortably video chat), good... More

I already have been a night in this hostel last January... And having organized a last minute trip to Turkey I didn't hesitate when I had to choose the accommodation for my stay in Istanbul. This hostel is easily reachable by metro/tram from ataturk airport, the rooms are nice and more spacious than in many other places I've been to... More

I had an excellent stay at this fun and social hostel for about 11 days. All the other guests I met here had a great experience too. This was a particularly good place for solo travellers, as it was really easy to meet people and make friends. The owner and the staff were lovely hosts who were there to help,... More

This was my last stop on a 4-month trip and this was one of my favorite hostel experiences. Since it was off-season it was pretty empty, but the people that were there were mainly solo world travelers and we really had a chance to get to know each other (staff too) because there were less of us. Actually decided I... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“All the rooms are good. Choose a dorm with a private bathroom for more convenience”
of 5 bubbles wonderkidDelhi, 14 Jan 2015 | Read review
“I stayed in the 14 bed dorm and it was very spacious, with curtains for each bunk bed. There were also 3 full bathrooms with showers just to accommodate the 14 bed dorm, I NEVER waited for a bathroom to be open which I think is incredible with a full dorm. Each bed has it's own reading light and outlet to plug in whatever you need and there are hairdryers in all the bathrooms. There was also a little couch/lounge area within the 14 bed dorm which was cool. Bring your own lock. Everything was clean, hot water all the time and very nice showers. Ask for a room away from the rooftop terrace if you don't want music at night.”
