This place beat out a motel in Abq. New Mexico with a sink that didn't work and water that flooded the bathroom floor from under the tub when you stepped into it for the title of "Worst Hotel I've Been To". Originally found this place in Rick Steve's Istanbul book, so even though the rooms were tiny from what I...

We were totally disappointed. It was advertised as a 'deal' £106 reduced to £46. When we complained about the room we were offered a 'better' one for an additional 20E. Nothing in the advert existed. No terrace, patio, garden, minibar, the list is endless; bad service, bad linen, bad plumbing, bad wiring. Staff lie and cheat. Go there at your...

My wife and I were travelling with a couple of friends in Istanbul and we had booked a couple of rooms at the Sultan's Eye Comfort. My wife and I had booked through Booking.com, while my friends had contacted the hotel directly for a booking. When we arrived to check in at 11:30PM, we were informed that there were no...

Be careful with this hotel! They make a reservation via Booking.com and even can show you your room where you will live, but when you will come to the hotel, suddenly recepsionist tells your that "hotel is full" and offers you another hotel (Apex hotel), which is affilated with Sultan Eye. Attention! They take double pay for both hotels. Second...

One day after the reservation another friend decided to join so I called the hotel asking if we could change the room to a triple, they said yes and for an extra charge of 30euros in total....

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
