I spent about 12 days in Yunus Emre Hotel, I am not luxury seeker so it was very good stay for me, hotel located about 50 meters away of the Blue mosque and Aya Sofya. Mr. Bulent was very nice guy, sportif, educated, helpful and fluent in English, I will go there again.

Comfortable but small room, very basic. Shower hot. No tea and coffee stuff. Service fine, a little English spoken. Breakfast terrible, very small and not even a knife! Never saw another guest while we were there! Fantastic location.

We had a room with attached bathroom. Room in itself was ok, had air conditioning, window, TV, cupboard with hangers, bed with side tables. Large enough. Bathroom was also ok, but the toilet was leaking every time we used flush. It has great potential to be developed into something really nice, being only minutes walk away from many of the... More

Calling it a hotel may be misleading. It is more a backpacker accommodation with ensuite facilities only. Make no mistake, it is an amazingly affordable stay in the heart of Sultanahmet, with the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Basaar, Basilica Cistern, Hippodrome etc all within 500m walk of the "hotel". The owner and his staff is present all day, you... More

This place has a great location and thoughtful, friendly staff to help you with anything. Perfect for budget travelers. I've come here twice a year for the past three years and am never disappointed. The only downside is that there in no wifi in the rooms, but it is available in the lobby. Right behind the Blue Mosque, close to... More

Pros: + The location of the hotel is excellent. A walking distance from main attractions. + Useful staff. Cons: - Very basic breakfast with small amounts of food. - During eight days, room cleaning service happened only once! - Room linen, bathroom and toilet of very poor cleanliness. - If you take the lift a killing smell will invade your... Positive...the staff is very friendly and helpful....the location is great as previously report...the breakfast was basic, but good and prepared by a nice lady...the small rooms were clean but tired...the bed was comfortable and had a top sheet (something we didn't find in some Turkish hotels). Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“Hostel rooms don't have AC and are way less comfortable than the hotel rooms, but that is to be expected with hostel rooms. For hotel rooms, try to get a room closer to the front of the building (southwest side) and away from the back (northeast side) as the early morning prayer is louder in the back rooms.”
