Hotel Niles Istanbul comes highly recommended for its prime location, nestled close to key attractions and transport links, blending tourist hotspots with local culture. The staff's warm hospitality garners consistent acclaim, ensuring a stay marked by attentive service. Although the bustling central location occasionally allows street noise, many guests report a quiet respite within their rooms.

The Hotel Niles is # 1 in Istanbul. They are located in the middle of Old Town. They are located within minutes of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The hotel is a traditional Turkish hotel. The hotel is sparking clean with old Turkish antique furniture to give you a traditional experience. The front desk reception staff are extremely polite and helpful. The breakfast is included and has a vast variety of offerings. Always served hot and fresh. The rooms offer a traditional Turkish bathroom, which in itself gives you a traditional feel. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to be in the middle of the Old Quarter.

Hotel Niles was very different to any other hotel we have stayed in on a city break. At first I was a little bewildered at the antique design of the hotel. We usually stay and are accustomed to a much more modern accommodation. For me, the rustic appearance was off putting on first impression. It is apparent though that the hotel is not this way from age or lack of choice to update it: this is the quirky and unique style of the hotel and it is there to add appeal. Upon arrival, we found receptionist Ethen (I think) to be uncomfortably formal and he seemed reluctant to give much information past the formalities. We found this quite off putting - it was like trying to converse with a pre-programmed robot and I think that tainted our view the first day. The lack of information when we arrived and were extremely tired left us wondering around a bit bewildered that first afternoon: not knowing where to go and what to do. We felt better after breakfast the next morning. Breakfast is small but good quality. It serves traditional Turkish style breakfast as well as cereal, yogurt and other things. The staff at breakfast were delightful and helpful. It was a shame you had to pay for some items like omelettes but to be honest, with the breakfast offered, it wasn’t really necessary. I also liked the fact that breakfast continued until 10:30 - that way we weren’t rushed to wake up so early on our break. Our room itself was as retro as the rest of the hotel: however, it was comfortable, very clean, warm with some thoughtful little extras like labels on the lights so you knew which was what. The bathroom had a small amount of limited toiletries but the layout and water pressure was good and warm. The cleaning staff were lovely. Very polite and friendly and they took pride in their work at the small hotel. The location of the hotel is ok. It is situated in a side road in the old town. The old town is a bit shabby (don’t expect old town Rhodes or Plaka in Athens because it’s not)! But it is good walking distance from everything and the tram is a 5 minute walk up the road to take you to other tourist attraction areas of town. Near the hotel is the Grand Bazaar (rip off bazaar) and many small random shops that sell fake bags / belts / scarves. Look around as some are very reasonable and others try to cheat you. Nothing has a price on it. Overall the hotel has a homely, safe and welcoming feel and is ideal for those who want to stay away from larger chains. Apart from the guy when we arrived, the majority of the service at the hotel was extremely hospitality and personal. The roof terrace was wonderful for breakfast too. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel.

On the way home to Chicago, I took advantage of Turkish Airlines offer to have up to a 5 day day layover in Istanbul without penalty. I chose the Hotel Niles as the place to stay for 4 nights. I was so happy I did so. First, the manager answered any question I had about visiting Istanbul in the weeks/months before my visit, so I was not stepping into the deep end of the pool upon arrival. They arranged for transfers to/from the new Istanbul Airport which is an hour's drive out of town (How I do miss the old Ataturk Airport). The room rate includes an excellent buffet Turkish restaurant which is served on their rooftop deck, with views of the sea and city. The central tram line is 1 block away as is the entrance to the Grand Bazaar. The Sultanamet District is only 5-8 minutes away by tram ride. The rooms are very quiet and well maintained. And finally I would like to make mention that any hotel's interior and location are important considerations to making any kind of hotel stay. However, it really is the friendliness of the staff that sets this hotel apart. From the time you check in, to the duration of your stay, to the time of check out, the folks at the Hotel Niles exhibit the very best of Turkish hospitality: always willing to assist, and answering any question or concern. You can count on the front desk people to ALWAYS greet you with a smile.

The magic of Istanbul didn’t end with the amazing sights… Our choice of the Hotel Niles was quite simply fabulous. A private personal lodging with an old world feel…The staff and management at Niles are welcoming, warm and friendly. They truly understand the significance of hospitality and during our four day stay we experienced unsurpassed service. The character of “The Niles” is classic of another age. Beautiful woodwork and antiques, hand stenciled ceilings and Ottoman style furniture give this hotel a unique feeling to match the city! The location allowed us easy access to the transit line and we walked to many of Istanbul’s most famous sites. Breakfast was wonderful before our long days of adventure. The Hotel Niles is a diamond in this magical city. John Underwood New York

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at the Niles Hotel Istanbul, 3rd to 8th May. The hotel staff were very welcoming from management, breakfast staff and room attendants down, they were all very helpful and greeted us warmly each day. The hotel is in an excellent area for a ten minute walk to the Bazaar, and a little further for Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.. There is also plenty to see and do along the way. We also thought it a safe area for any solo travellers - we were out and about most nights. We could not fault the hotel at all, there was plenty of hot water at all times, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, as were the pillows, and although situated round the corner from the elevator (room 102), there was no noise heard to spoil our sleep. Our room also over looked shops, which was ok for us, as there was plenty of everyday life to watch and listen too, including being called to prayer. Breakfast is taken up on the roof terrace and was very good and plentiful, with cereals, various dried fruits, yoghurt, cooked items and plenty of bread, jams, honey and cake to try. Juices, tea, coffee and refills. Freshly squeezed Orange juice was available for an extra (3 euros). It kept us going for most of the day. We also enjoyed a glass of wine and beer up there after a long day of sightseeing, our drinks came with complimentary nibbles which was very nice, and a thoughtful touch. The view over to the sea of Marmaris and all the cargo tankers is what I loved to see every morning. Of all the hotels to choose from in Istanbul and there are many, this lovely hotel is a gem and made our first trip to Istanbul perfect. We would love to stay here again.

Niles is a small and charming family run hotel on a quiet side street to Yeniçeriler Caddesi, in walking distance of Istanbul’s main attractions. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and polite. The rooms were well equipped, practically arranged, well kept and were properly cleaned every day. Breakfast at the partially enclosed roof terrace was appetising and tasty, with several Turkish specialties. Lighting in the bathrooms could have been better/stronger. Apart from that we really couldn’t t find anything to fault the place. Highly recommended!

I recently stayed at the Niles hotel with my parents, occupying two separate rooms. The warm welcome we received upon arrival set a positive tone for our stay. The staff, while explaining the hotel rules, offered us tea, and our luggage was efficiently taken to our rooms. The rooms were well-maintained, displaying a smart use of space with ample outlets and a convenient keycard-based electricity system. The only drawback was the somewhat compact shower cabin. Nevertheless, the rooms were equipped with everything one might need, including comfortable beds.
The cleaning staff exhibited professionalism and patience, ensuring our needs were met. The breakfast spread impressed with its diverse offerings, catering to various tastes. The helpful and friendly hotel staff added to the overall positive experience. The location proved ideal, situated on a quaint urban street that leads to a spacious square with the Beyazit Mosque. The Grand Bazaar, numerous food and shopping stores, and the tramway station to Taksim are conveniently located at this square. In summary, my stay was highly enjoyable, and I would undoubtedly recommend this hotel.

We stopped in Istanbul for a 2 day / 2 night layover on our way home from a cruise adventure - found Hotel Niles via Expedia. Price was very affordable and it included all the ticks we wanted : centrally located for walking / wifi / breakfast and most important, other travelers gave it good reviews.
We weren't disappointed. This is a small boutique hotel that we found out is family run. We saw the same faces throughout our stay and they couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Gave us directions to sites, taxi information, what's good and what's over rated and best tip of all, a dinner place to go too. ALSO, there is 24 hr front desk coverage - we arrived at the hotel after an overnight flight early in the morning and since our room was ready, we were able to check in straight away. That enabled us to shower, change and head out for an early morning stroll.
Room was small, clean and functional. If I could give a 4.8 I would have and this would account only for the bed - it was a tad hard but wasn't worthy of any kind of complaint hence the 5/5. We slept just fine.
The breakfast was incredible. Clearly made in house as everything has a home cooked feel. Lots of choices and very good quality.
We also took advantage one night of their only dinner offering, it's called a Light Dinner that consisted of a couple of homemade dishes - hummus and one I think was a celeriac dish. Served with bread / toast. We wiped both plates clean. 15 euro's and we actually didn't need to go our for dinner. Again, well done to the chef, I think I heard the staff say it was the wife of the manager - if that's correct, our thanks to you!
By the way the top floor breakfast / evening location is simply awesome, great views. Was nice to sit up there late in the afternoon and have a beer while chatting about our day exploring. Highly recommend an afternoon/evening drink up there.
Housekeeping was efficient, no issues there. We were in room 401, had a view down one of the local streets. We actually didn't hear any outside noise till prayer time in the morning.
Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel for couples or even families. You will appreciate the finer details that a family run business offers.

This hotel really impressed me. It's very central and you can walk everywhere. Everything is taken care of. The rooms are very clean and nicely furnished. There is heating, air conditioning, shower products, a hairdryer and even slippers. I really liked the fact that the hotel pays attention to sustainability with the water dispensers that everyone could use. The breakfast, which takes place on the top floor, is very fresh and there is something for everyone. We also enjoyed visiting the roof terrace outside of breakfast times. Be sure to visit the second lobby, which is beautifully furnished in Ottoman style and invites you to linger and drink tea. The transport back to the airport was wonderful and worked well. I would have liked to have been able to close the bathroom door properly. It was made of glass and didn't fit properly into the frame, so the door always stayed open a little. The shower was a bit too small.

We stayed for 4 nights in a Classic Room in early March in this delightful little hotel in the old town area of Istanbul. The room was compact, but spacious enough and it had everything we needed. We particularly liked the attention to detail both in our room and throughout the hotel - it shows that the staff and management care. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well. Breakfast in the roof-top terrace was traditional Turkish cuisine that we enjoyed very much and found that it kept us going for hours as we explored the city. All the staff, without exception were friendly and helpful. The hotel was just a stone's throw from Ordu Cd, or what we would call "The main Road," with its larger stores and trams down to the Sultan Ahmet area. We chose to walk to this area as it only took 15-20 mins. We loved our stay in Hotel Niles and thoroughly recommend it.

The Managers were very helpful but as we had a guide we never asked them! They did arrange transport to and from the airport but we did not check out if they provided other services!

The hotel is on a side street and although it can be difficult sometimes to get picked up we managed to get an Uber a few times who found us fairly easily. I would say it's only a few minutes walk to the main road for easier pick up. Hope that helps.
