Perfect location, near the sites, shops, transport, etc. Marvellous view from the terrace and possibly from the room, depending on which room you get. It is not easy to find a better view, the blue mosque is there smiling to you, with the Marmara sea in the background. Clean room and spotless toilet. Excellent very helpful and friendly staff. Good...

The hotel was small but with excellent service and near to a lot of turistic sightseeings, like Aghia Sophia and Blue Mosque!!! We stayed there 3 nights. Many thanks to CIIGDEM (the person at the reception) who...

Writing to warn all potential Istanbul visitors and just hope I will help someone to avoid the mistake we did - do not book this hotel. Be aware that the rooms are extremely small (even for a budget place), dirty, old and smelly. The window in the room was “facing” some brick well with a spiral staircase in it. The...

The only thing going for this hotel is the location close to several historical sites, and the beautiful view from the breckfast balcony. The lobby of the hotel is pretty, and the staff are nice. We stayed overnight for about 190 Italian Lira, or 70 Euros. Be advised the rooms are not that nice. The room we had was barely...

Friendly, helpful, charming staff - great location and nice rooms. All front desk staff were incredibly helpful and accomodating. Night porter Ozgur had a wonderful dry sense of humor and attempted to teach us some turkish words. Super breakfast on rooftop restaurant with wonderful views of Aya Sophia and Blue Mosque. Can't say enough nice things about the accomodations, and...

stayed in this hotel twice - once out of desperation (arrived too late) and the second because a friend booked it without telling me which one it was. Otherwise I wouldn't have gone near it again. It is just too small, shabby and noisey. We asked for a twin bedded room and found the beds had been moved together so...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
