While Lush Hotel was priced higher than other hotels in Taksim, my friends and I decided to splurge due to a favorable recommendation in the New York Times. We were very disappointed with the value. The water from the faucet on the first night was brown. We requested a third towel for our triple several times and ended up sharing...

Staff were very nice but seemed puzzled about who these people in their hotel were - oh they're guests... Room 412 has to be recommended. The perfect antidote to big chain hotels. Stay there, be patient and smile. Yep rooms noisy but being that close to Taksim...no surprise.

This hotel with individually designed rooms and a very nice arty touch is a real beaut! Located close to Taksim Square and Istiklal Road it is a perfect location for exploring the lively quarters around the hotel. The old building has been renovated and the rooms are excellent. Service is excellent, too and the breakfast served in the bar in...

We almost didn't stay here because of the reviews here on Trip Advisor. I am glad we did though. I don't really write reviews often but I thought I should provide a different experience to some of the other reviewers. I booked a few days prior via a travel website and paid 150 euro. We did get a really small...

I booked Lush Hotel due to a recommendation from the NY times and from its impressive website. Our stay was disappointing. Firstly, the hotel room was very small - the website photos are deceiving. Secondly, the bathroom was very old and the shower drainage was clogged. I dont mind a small room, but the bathroom must be clean - it...

The prior reviews are a little unbelievable. While the hotel is small, the rooms are immaculate and very stylish. No "smell of sewage" and I haven't seen "peeling paint" everywhere. Trust me, I've stayed in some much worse hotels (see other reviews and picts). My take: positives- central location, well maintained and modern with good amenities, staff that are happy...

I am an avid traveler in my late twenties. I am not fussy when it comes to hotels but one thing i cannot stand is dingy toilets and smelly rooms. I travel a lot for work and in my free time i travel a lot for leisure. I have traveled everywhere from Fiji to Alaska, from Mexico to Russia staying...

Not really worth the hype. I had heard good things about this hotel... how unique and trendy it was. I really wanted to like the hotel, and it was nice enough, just not worth the price. I was first put in the lone room on the 5th floor. It was bleak,I know all rooms are different and I think they...

This hotel was overpriced and very unpleasant experience. The only good thing about it was the location just near Taskim Square. Our first room aside from being unbelievable noisy could not be secured as the window was off the hinge and did not get fixed in the 3 days we were in the room. The bathroom had big chunk of...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
