If you are wondering where to stay in Istanbul, then do choose this hotel . it is perfectly situated close to all the main attractions and yet is in a relatively quiet side street overlooking some gardens. It is also close to the tram and Metro stops which makes getting around really straightforward. However, what sets it apart is the attention of the staff, which is exceptional with the manager,Agah Okay in a class apart . He takes guests on guided tours around Istanbul, which happen on different days of the week and with different topics. We were lucky enough to be able to join the food tour and the market tour. both were entertaining and highly enjoyable. The hotel overall is also very comfortable, the breakfasts are extensive, they provide inclusive afternoon tea of Turkish tea and bagels and there is also a sauna small indoor swimming pool and Turkish spa. We stayed five nights, and I would recommend a minimum of four.

This hotel is something incredibly rare in the best possible way! It has everything any tourist or traveller could need or want - not only is it beautiful, clean, fantastically located- down a quiet street and yet close to everything! It has great rooms, excellent breakfast, their own hamam and friendly and helpful staff! It has more than that… it’s like a family, a community! Every staff member went above and beyond in any way they could every single day! Helping to organise trips, offer advice, recommend restaurants, trips, barbers anything you need etc.. check in how your day is, check you got to the airport ok, I could go on! I never saw a staff member without a smile on their face! The hotel has lots of ways they go the extra mile for their guests… the breakfast is extensive and they do different Turkish specials every day, you get free bottled water in your room every day, beautiful complimentary toiletries, they offer free walking tours, free cooking lessons- we went on the most amazing food tour courtesy of the hotel! And every day between 3 and 5 they offer Turkish tea and snacks for guests in the hotel lounge! We are recommending everyone we know to stay here when they go to Istanbul and we will definitely be back! It was such a wonderful experience staying here!

The perfect Turkish mansion in an ideal location, right on the tram line and adjacent to the Topkapi Palace. The staff is extraordinary. Weekly activities, such as a cooking class, neighborhood walking tour or food walk are all exceptional. It’s my favorite hotel in all of Europe and Asia.

This is a fabulous hotel and made our long weekend in Istanbul absolutely perfect. The hotel itself is down a quiet side street but is minutes away from Gulhane Park and is a short easy walk to the main sites - Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque, Haghia Sophia and Basilica Cistern. There is also a tram stop only minutes away for exploring further afield. Our room in the hotel was excellent including a kettle with tea and coffee and a complimentary dish of delicious Turkish Delight on arrival. The staff were all lovely and made us feel very welcome - they could not have done more. There was also complimentary afternoon tea laid on every day which was a lovely touch. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and if we ever return to Istanbul (which I would love to do) we would definitely stay here again.

This hotel really made our week in Istanbul special. The facilities are great - clean, nice hammam, excellent breakfast, good lounge area - but above all it's the staff that make the place so great. They are always friendly, helpful and welcoming without being overbearing. The hotel manager, Okay Alkan, organises tours several times a week. These show you parts of Istanbul away from the obvious tourist sites and are absolutely free (the hotel even pay the tram fares!). Okay is really friendly, knowledgeable and keen to share the culture of his city with visitors. These tours were real highlights of our stay. We had a huge, comfortable bed and a view towards Gulhane Park and Topkapi Palace (in a standard room). The kettle was a bonus for us Brits too! The street the hotel is on is quiet with very little traffic, but it's an easy walk to all the main sites and about 100 yards from a tram stop so the location could not be better. If (hopefully when!) we return to Istanbul we won't even consider staying anywhere else.

Excellent location, can walk to Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Bascilica Cistern, Galata Bridge and pretty much everywhere in old town. We loved our stay. The room was comfortable, we got a room with a small balcony. Breakfast is included, we appreciated that.

The hotel is located on a quiet street , very close to Gulhane tram station. Many small various shops around .Very nice and clean hotel. The room was big enough , it also had a small balcony. We like the sweet surprise ( the details make the difference ! ) that we found in the room !The bathroom was small but nicely decorated .The beds are comfortable and the sheets are changed daily. Every day , we received small bottles of wather in the room. The staff at the reception ( the beautiful lady , Araz and the colleague) very kind and responsive to the wishes of the guest. The food is fresh, diverse and very tasty ! Miss Fatima is always ready to serve you.Mr. Sercan speaks English well and always helps if needed. We arrived at the hotel as tourists and left the hotel as friends who wish to return.Thank you for the hospitality and see you soon !

Our room was clean and quiet - with a view overlooking Gulhane Park. We enjoy walking around when traveling. A stroll through the park takes you to the archeological museum and Topkapi palace. In the other direction, it was a short walk to the subway line that crosses the Bosphorus. A little further gets you to a bridge crossing the Golden Horn. We took a great walking tour from staff (Agah) that included the Fatih mosque and St George's church as well. He provided a refreshingly local perspective on Istanbul - as well as some pronunciation assistance. Overall a pleasant stay.

This hotel is wonderful - very clean, good breakfast, complimentary afternoon tea, complimentary cooking class (which I recommend for a unique experience) where guests get to eat generous portions of the food they cooked, amazing location and friendly staff. I did find the staff always had a smile on their face and happy to share suggestions/their love for their country. Our room had comfortable beds and housekeeping did an excellent job on a daily basis. We ate almost every day at Hocapasa (alleyway where locals eat)- the food is delicious and good value for money. This is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
