It’s impossible to imagine a better choice of hotel for exploring the historic core of Istanbul. The location is ideal, across a quiet street from a lovely park in a city with few green spaces. The must-see sites are but a short walk or convenient tram ride away. Public areas and rooms are impeccable in both decor and cleanliness, beds are comfortable, linens are high quality, soundproofing is good, the included breakfast buffet is copious and varied each day. There is complimentary tea and light snacks 3-5 pm for a perfect respite after a day of sightseeing. Room rates are extremely reasonable for the high quality offered.

What sets this hotel apart, however, is the attitude and extraordinary level of friendly, professional service on the part of all staff. Mr. Alkan, the manager as well as a registered tour guide, is passionate about sharing his city with guests. He sets the tone for an impeccable experience within the hotel while also leading complimentary and informative neighborhood walks. There are also optional cooking demonstrations and excellent sauna, swimming pool, and massage facilities on site, the latter a far better option than the touristy public hammams.

I gladly give this hotel the highest possible recommendation and look forward to returning.

We stayed 4 nights at the Sirkeci Mansion Hotel and enjoyed every minute of it. Mr Agah Okay Alkan, the manager, reached out to us once our booking was confirmed and provided pertinent information including the option to pick us up via a private car from the Airport. He also promptly responded to various questions regarding visas etc. On landing at Istanbul International Airport (IST), we found that his suggestion regarding the car was excellent and the price reasonable. At the Hotel, and throughout our stay, the front desk supervisors, Mr Sercan and Mr Enver provided excellent recommendations. The entire staff at the hotel were professional, courteous and friendly. We are very appreciative of them as they all made us feel very welcome! The rooms are European standard size and the mattresses firm but very comfortable (I really need good mattresses to sleep well). The Hotel’s location is fabulous - our window looked out on the walls of the park adjoining the Topkapi Palace. And the key attractions in Sultan Achmet (Topkapi Place, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Galata Tower etc.) were all about a 10 to 15 minutes walk. The Gulhane tram station is about a 100 feet from the property and that easily takes you to further areas of Istanbul. And the Eminonu ferry is about 10 minutes downhill - very handy for Bosporus tours or trips to Kadikoy etc. The hotel serves a good and sustaining breakfast and there are numerous restaurants for lunch and dinner as soon as you step outside the property - our personal favorite was Sultan Restaurant and we went there at least 4 times - tasty food at very reasonable prices and excellent service! We travel globally at least 2 times a year and have been doing so for quite a few years. Istanbul and Sirkeci Mansion Hotel will be added to our list of favorites!

I was thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The location is excellent: 10 minutes walk from the Hagia Sophia and Topkapi, and the tram stop for the useful T1 line is just 1 minute away. Yet, as it is set back on a street slightly away from the tram line, it was nice and quiet during the evening. Getting to Karakoy and Beyoglu was exceptionally straightforward, taking just 10 minutes on the tram. Likewise the train station to cross over to Asia is also just a few minutes' walk away.

The rooms were spotlessly clean, with traditional decor and, impressively, amenities that you wouldn't find in much more luxurious hotels. For example, slippers were provided in the wardrobe which I appreciated, and complimentary bottled water that was replenished every day. Although the TV was small and not of good quality, this didn't really matter to me as much. The bed was comfortable and I like the fact the pillows were of different firmness so you could select whichever one is more comfortable.

The bathroom was of a good size and had a bathtub with shower.

What made the hotel really stand out though was the thoughtful extra touches from the staff. Every day free tea and bagels were available in the lobby during the afternoon, and complimentary Turkish delight was waiting in the room when I arrived. Likewise the lobby seating area had some board games and books for entertainment. The staff were very helpful and even let my companion check in early in the morning for no extra charge, and also arranged their room to be next to mine. Such generosity and hospitality I found illuminating and impressive.

Finally, the hotel breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold foods, and the selection varied from day to day. I liked that they kept the croissants warm too.

There is a sauna, gym and swimming pool which I didn't use, but again not something I expected given the unassuming exterior face of the building.

Overall, I had a really excellent time here and would not hesitate to choose this hotel again another time. The room rate was very reasonable too given the location, quality and facilities.

I booked this hotel as a special treat based on the amazing reviews on here. It did not live up to it, sadly.

The Pros
- Location: fantastic spot next to Gulhane Park. Lovely view over the park from the balcony which was very nice.
- Room size: superior balcony room very spacious and had a bath and a shower
- Staff: very helpful when required. Lots of bottled water provided. Cleaners friendly.

The Cons
- Breakfast: basic and very average. There should be no excuse for poor fruit choice in a country like Turkey. Unclear how the reviews are so positive for this on here. Bizarre.
- Upkeep: don't let "traditional Turkisk charm" mean the hotel gets shabby inside. It looks tired inside and needs some love TLC.
- Room: big balcony rooms curtains are too short and not fitted properly. It means light gets in as soon as the sun rises. I've added pictures of our room at 5am. We had a giant balcony, but no table outside and it needed a good scrub. Rooms themselves could be made much better with some thought into practicalities. Also the room had a big gap under the door and was no soundproof so you could hear any guests walking about, talking, the elevator right outside and light gets in (see picture) so we had to block it up every night.
- Value for money: very disappointed by this. The reviews for the breakfast are baffling and it's not worth paying extra for, over a hotel offering no breakfast. I researched a lot of hotels and there are many others I wish I had gone with instead.

Overall, for the money I paid based on the reviews here, I was disappointed with our stay. There was no "luxury" to command the price point, it was very basic, so you're paying for the location but what I learnt is you can walk so easily to all the main tourist attractions in the Old Town, Karakoy, Galata, ferry port to Kadikoy, that the location alone is less important. If you're a younger couple (40 and under) I'd suggest looking elsewhere. If you're older, require lots of interaction with staff and like internal activities then this may be for you.

I do feel bad writing this as the people were lovely, I just wanted to provide an honest review so others weren't left feeling like me.

It is a delightful small hotel with a traditional structure with small dark wooden balconies, vaguely resembling one of our mountain huts!
The location is ideal, a stone's throw from the main attractions of the old city (Topkapi, Obelisk, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Column of Constantine etc.).
We, staying in one of the very few 'superior' rooms, on the facade, woke up with a view of the walls of old Topkapi complete with seagulls perched on the battlements...
We found everything very nice and clean, our room was extremely nice, including the bathroom with Turkish style tiles.
The small swimming pool with sauna and hammam in the basement was also worth a visit.
The only observation I can make concerns breakfast, the foods are pleasantly presented but there is a clear preponderance of savory options, and this perhaps for Italians accustomed to sweet breakfasts can be a bit penalizing (even if minicroissants and various jams are available!).
Finally, applause to the staff, all helpful and smiling, they already put you in a good mood.
In short, we highly recommend the Sirkeci, it is truly an excellent base for discovering the beautiful Istanbul.

This hotel is wonderful - very clean, good breakfast, complimentary afternoon tea, complimentary cooking class (which I recommend for a unique experience) where guests get to eat generous portions of the food they cooked, amazing location and friendly staff. I did find the staff always had a smile on their face and happy to share suggestions/their love for their country.

Our room had comfortable beds and housekeeping did an excellent job on a daily basis. We ate almost every day at Hocapasa (alleyway where locals eat)- the food is delicious and good value for money. This is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

We enjoyed 4 wonderful nights at Sirkeci Mansions.
The location is great, as any of the sights in the of the old town are only 10-15 minute walk away, and the extra niceties that the hotel provide just made our stay even more special. Each day they provide afternoon teas and snacks and 3-4 times a weeks, walking tours to help show the real side of life in Istanbul, with Okay from the front desk being an excellent and fully trained tour guide.
Everyone on the team, from the cleaners to the front desk to the kitchen were wonderful and anticipated all our needs.
We highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is in an excellent location. You can enter the Palace Park in two steps and take a short walk to the Istanbul Archaeological Museum. Walk two more blocks and you will see Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque 🕌️. All Istanbul attractions are within walking distance. This is very beneficial in places with frequent traffic jams.
In addition to the location, the manager of this hotel is also very enthusiastic and enthusiastic. If you have any questions, just ask him for answers.
The hotel includes breakfast and afternoon tea snacks, which are good.
The room is equipped with double-layer soundproof glass, so the sound of cars outside the street cannot be heard.
The restrooms are very clean and new.

Don’t think twice this hotel has got it all though it’s not a chain nor a known hotel I took the chance and it was very much worth it.
Location in a vintage authentic neighbourhood is 5 min walk from all major historical sites, 1min to Tram & 5 min to train station beside having lots of very reasonable bazars next to you adding to that all the best dinning areas are 4 min walk from hotel so location is spectacular.
Hotel itself is small from outside but spacious from inside , rooms are very clean and renovated, got spa, sauna, pool, gym & a very nice panoramic rooftop, View from the room is on Topkapi palace ancient stone wall with lots of seagulls flying by.
Breakfast is very good and tasty all that you need basically yet the coffee is not good but you can order a double Turkish coffee for 2$ which is way better than espresso.
The hotel in brief could be a signature hotel with its wooden old style yet modernised.
Rooms got all amenities needed, boiler, free water so you needn’t buy anything nor Cary anything on your way back.
Now the cherry on the top are the employees in this hotel from the smallest rank to top management they literally go out of their way to give you a memorable experience, very experienced they will guide and help you plan and book your excursions, very attentive to details so a big thank you to all as won’t mention names afraid to forget anyone but they all made a great family trip a memorable one
