This little gem is ideally located close to Sultanamet's main attractions. Quite small and intimate so you get to know the staff and other guests from all over the world chatting in the lovely breakfast area overlooking the Bosphorus. The Turkish breakfast (included in the rate) is one of the best we encountered during our time in Turkey - simple,...

This was a nice friendly family-run guesthouse. It was comfortable, clean and we felt right at home. We ended up spending a few more nights here than expected. This allowed us to unexpectedly try a few different rooms. They are quite busy and get booked out quite easily, so plan ahead. The hotel is a little hard to find, but...

Stayed at Tulip guest house for three nights. It is a cozy little place right in the middle of sultanahmet a few hundred meters from the blue mosque, hagia sophia, topkapi palace and the basilica cistern. For the rest of the city the tram station is just a few minutes away from the hotel. The place is run by a...

Simply - great place. Perfectelly located, near Aya Sofia and Blue Mosque, 100 meters from tram station, in quiet street. Staff is very friendly and willing to help you with anything. Rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast is on top floor with amazing view on Bosphorus. Highly recommended.

The is a gem. It is within close walking distance of so much of what you come to Istanbul to see: Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Constantinian Cisterns, Grand Bazaar, and Tokapi Palace. For other sites, it is very close to the water and the Metro so then quite easy to get to most place you want to go. The beds...

We recently stayed at Tulip Guesthouse and it was great! The location can't be beat, it's quiet and comfortable, and the beds are awesome after a long day (I'm 7 months pregnant so you know I'm picky!)! The breakfast is also very tasty and Esin and her family are lovely and welcoming - very helpful. I highly recommend this place...

We are a group of three best friends that took a short city break. Tulip house was the best solution! Location is perfect for anyone interested in sightseeing - located in the city center, just 5 minutes walk from Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque (no need for any public transportation). Hotel stuff was more then friendly - it felt like...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
