I would like to warn all travellers that your stay at the Rose hotel in Istambul can be ok (this is if you are not too demanding concerning the quality of the rooms) only as long as everything goes fine - if not, do not count on understanding from the management!!! If you decide to complain about anything, be prepared...

We booked through laterooms.com for £22 double bed & breakfast. We were on the first floor. Corner room that had 1 double bed and 1 single. Plenty of room. Only the door to the shower/toilet was very narrow. but once inside fine. Plenty of hot water. Very clean. Staff we met were most helpful giving us tea on arrival and...

I had booked the Rose Hotel through the istanbul.rose-hotel.tobook.com website. When I arrived they had no record of my reservation and no rooms available. After an hour of waiting around they put me up in a room in a building in next block. My friend who had also reserved and was arriving the next day met with same problem! The...

I booked a double room with private bathroom for me and my wife 2 months in advance. The price was 35 euros per night for the room. At our arrival the administration appologized that there is a mistake with the reservation, so they have only a single bad room for us. They offered to put a second matress on the...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
