We travel in and out of Istanbul several times each year, as we do business in the Middle East and Europe. Istanbul is our favorite "base" city for longer trips, and we do our stop overs here, often trying different hotels/restaurants each time to experience more of the city. We lead groups to turkey and like to know the best...

This hotel is set in the old town of Istanbul, Sultanahmet, The staff were very friendly, particularly the bar man serving in the lovely rooftop terrace, whilst I was enjoying the evening sun and amazing views. The hotel is situated a short walk away from the Blue Mosque and other main attractions. The old town is very quaint with some...

Our local travel agent in Bergheim, Germany found this hotel for us. It is situated a stone’s throw-away from the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia, within easy walking distance from all the interesting sights in the district of Sultanahmet. The first room we were given was a wee bit too small and dark for us so we asked if...

I liked it. We took economic room - it was very clean, new, nicely designed. On a quiet street. Friendely personnel. Breakfast is middle, do not recommend as well food on the roof - for eating better go out!

I had spotted this hotel when I was in Istanbul last May. Ideally located near the main tourist sites, loads of restaurants nearby and five minutes from the Arasto Bazaar with its many attractive shops. I opted for a more spacious corner room and was very happy with my choice. Very comfortable bed with top quality bedlinen and a compact...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
