The hotel is located close to the Sultanahmet square. I stayed for just one night and it was a comfortable stay. The staff were also very helpful. I did not like the breakfast as there was very limited options.

I spent three night in the Cem Sultan Hotel. I turned a 5 hour stop over in Istanbul into a quick tourist stop during a business trip in March 2016. I booked through hotels.com and had no problems booking in when I arrived at the hotel at 1:00 in the morning. I got exactly what I booked for ant at...

Pros: 1. This place is really a stone's throw away from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofaya. 2. The view from the top floor (where the breakfast is served) is also very good. You see the Sea of Marmara and the ships moving around. The seagulls sitting near the window and demanding food is an added attraction. 3. Friendly staff....

Staff were friendly and curteous. Night staff had better English skills that day staff. Breakfast was simple but adequate to set you up for the day. Lots of stairs and no lift but the view from the breakfast room was beautiful. It was originally the roof terrace I guess but is now an airy room with a fabulous view over...

I highly recommend Cem Sultan. We stayed there for 10 days and loved it. The central, safe location and price are the bonus of this hotel. It is a short walk to many tourist sites, restaurants, and the very convenient tram. Rooms and linens were clean and provided daily. Bed and pillows were new and comfortable. Room is small, newly...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
