This is my most memorable stay of the 2 weeks. This hotel had a very hospitable environment, right next to Johns Castle and so much more. Everyone in Selchuk was nice beyond nice. The staff at the hotel Mustafa and Metin became friends as did the owners puppy and son. So wonderful. We did not need 5 star am entities...

We came across this place by accident, we looked in the Rough Guide to Turkey and didn't know what to expect. We took a chance and were very pleasantly surprised. We had a room which stepped out onto the pool terrace. A few people were staying there but we only new that when we saw them at breakfast. No noisy...

Judging from the review in Lonely Planet, I expected something a little more picturesque but was disappointed with the actual conditions of the hotel and room. Everything in the lobby and in the room seemed old and as if in need of replacing. The doors on the shower didn't function so well and someone had left their used gum by...

The hotel is in a great location not just for Ephesus but also for the Basilica of St John and the Isa Bey Mosque which is next door (NB the call to prayer is NOT a noisy one!). It's just a few minutes' walk into town where there are lots of restaurants. A good room, small but adequate shower room,...

We just spent a night at this hotel and love the staff at the Hotel Akay. They really go out of their way to ensure you are happy. However our room was very hot and the a/c didn't work. Nor did the bed side light or the wifi. But the restaurant is good, the pool is refreshing after a day...

We stayed here for two nights while visiting Ephesus and were shocked at the conditions of this hotel. We think that there has been a change in ownership because the positive reviews from 2013 did not match our experience. The hotel was tired looking and unsanitary. We stayed in the newer building overlooking the pool and on the way to our...

We recently stayed here and actually left earlier than planned. The room was expensive compared to other hotels in the area. I assume this might be because of the pool. The bathroom was clean enough, but there was mold in certain areas that made me not even want to use the shower. The bed was not very comfortable for two...

My wife and I booked our stay on the basis of Trip Advisor and other positive reviews. Based on those reviews, the moderate price, and the very positive experience we had at a less expensive place in Istanbul for the previous three nights, we had high expectations in February 2014. Those expectations were not met. Details matter: a bathroom needs...

My wife and I stayed in Hotel Akay in November for a couple of days in order to visit Ephesus. The room was fine and the staff friendly but the service was almost non existent: breakfast not ready at 08.00, room not made up, restaurant not open. The hotel may be great in the summer but don't expect too much...

Checked in late after long drive and ferry from Greece. Helpful staff. Room spacious, clean and comfortable. Would have liked light switches near beds and a few wall sockets rather than extensions, but this is a minor detail. We're still here now. had lovely breakfast this morning and dinner from restaurant next door but sadly a couple booked into the...

All was fine because big sites to see. Just walked into cathedral ruins and wow what I found. Safe peaceful and oozing ancient beyond belief. Stay if you're ok doing wo 5 star needs.
