We have known of the Barkai Studios for more than 10 years and finally got a chance to stay there in April. The 3 apartments are cleverly and beautifully designed - the space is compact, and yet we comfortably fit our family of 5. The location is unbeatable, on the quaint, stone cobbled streets of Musrara, within a 5 minute...

Located between Damascus and Jaffa gates, Barkai Studio has a wonderful location to visit Jerusalem and a cosy, comfortable atmosphere. Its street is one of the most charming and quiet I've seen in the city. In the G Studio and I enjoyed having breakfast in the veranda overlooking the garden (after some recent snow storm) and Ruth Barkai is a...

We stayed with Ruti and the Barkai Studios for 6 weeks from October to November 2013, and had a wonderful stay. We (my husband, me and our 8 months old boy) stayed in both the Garden Studio and in Studio B. Studio B is larger and gives a bit more moving space, with the bed located on a second floor...

This was perfect place for us. We have spent 2 weeks in Jerusalem with 4 old guy. Staying in the garden apartment was a perfect decision. After full day of walking, sometimes on desert - it was a nice place to come back and to rest to be ready for the next day. Quiet, 5 minutes to old city, in...

We stayed here recently and we absolutely loved it. This was our first trip to Israel and we were not disappointed. She let's you know up front that it is not a luxury accommodation and we appreciated this. She emails out directions for guests to follow from the airport and I have to tell you having the address written in...

We are annual return guests to Barkai Studios. We stayed for two and a half weeks in early June 2013 and we found the Wifi connection much improved. Ruti has installed with new signal extender in place which makes a difference. Ruti is also eager to accommodate her guest and was very helpful in making sure we had Internet access.

These 3 lovely efficiency apartments (with garden) are located within an easy walk of the Old City, Jaffa Street, Ben Yehuda St., and the light rail. The owner, Ruth Barkai, speaks excellent English, cares about her customers, and greets each new visitor with two delicious fresh loaves of whole wheat bread, plenty of information and, if needed, advice. She'll help...

Lots of B&B owners say it, but this place really is just a short distance from the Old City (right by the Damascus Gate). The place is comfortable and clean, and Ruth is a kind and friendly hostess with good advice. Please remember that this is a budget B&B, not a hotel -- there is no breakfast served, and towels/sheets...

“I would not be too obsessed with getting the Garden Studio, they are all great options, and you have equal access to the garden. All three are great.”

“The garden apartment is located in the private garden. This garden is used by all people who stay - but we feel well in that place and we had private place to eat family breakfast. Normally the apartment is designed for 2 people. But we fit perfectly with our 4 years old son. And the location is perfect! There is a play ground around 200 m from the apartment. So after 15 km of walking your child can still play in the play ground for the next 2 hours....”
