We chose this hotel for a very short stay in Jerusaelm on a bed and breakfast basis. The hotel is very near the central bus station and was perfect for our needs as travel to and from all parts of the city was easy from here. The room was very clean; bedlinen was clean; beds comfortable and bathroom very clean....

Despite everyones reviews on trip advisor I let myself be cajoled by our tour operator into staying in this hotel and boy did I regret it. Let me do the pros since there aren't many. The staff was friendly and tried to help but most of the time ran around like headless chickens due to the sheer volume of guests...

When we arrived there at about 9 p.m. after a long trip from Frankfurt we were told they did not have food available... Very funny when you have booked halfboard, and I think 9 pm is not very late.... But the whole service personal did not seem to be very friendly or helpful; when you had a question at the...

I stayed at the jerusalem gate after it was recomended to me by my israeli travel agency in South Africa. not sure why I used her because I normally book stuff myself. Avoid this hotel it will make your stay in Jerusalem unpleasant, and since I had jsut stayed at a hotel in tel aviv that was the same price...

After the Reich hotel was sold, we started staying at the Jerusalem Gate when coming to Jerusalem (out of town Israelis). It's not luxury, it's not homey like the Reich, but it is incredibly convenient. And the price is usually significantly lower than other Jerusalem lodging options. Rooms are basic. Bathrooms are basic, with a hair dryer in most. We've...

We previously had stayed at this J-Gate previously in 2008, and enjoyed our stay, Jerusalem is a Great City, the Capital of Israel, and a pilgrimage City for many religions, so the demands of a good rest stop are high, and IMHO in $ HIGH TOO, but when you factor in the spiritual energize one gets Jew or Gentile alike...

nice lobby, but bar is never open (unless you make friends with the staff and get them to open it just so they can drink with you) rooms arent anything special, quite dirty and worn out, beds arent particularly comfortable, one small cupboard to hand stuff. lots of tours and teenagers staying there. staff friendly.

We stayed here in April 2009. The breakfasts was good, considering it was Passover. It is situated behind the Central Bus station, so it was dead easy catching a bus to wherever we wanted to go. It is very far from any sights though, so prepare to use the bus or walk VERY far. The rooms very average, clean and...
