This hotel is amazing. Wonderful service and very kind staff. The setting is historic and beautiful down to every detail. The hotel is a mixing of cultures and provides a welcoming and peaceful place for all travelers throughout the world. I come to Jerusalem for business several times a year. I could stay in any hotel but I come here...

I used to go there a lot. The Building, atmosphere and food are good. But unfortunately the new security staff they have don't seem to be trained, they have an aggressive attitude and can be dangerous. Given the security situation in Jerusalem I wouldnt feel safe to go to a place when the local security can be a threat.

General M, General Manager at The American Colony Hotel, responded to this review

The review above was written by a person we know, who has never stayed with us as a hotel guest. He asked to park his car in our car park – something which is in general forbidden to non- hotel guests – and subsequently an argument with one of our security staff ensued. His review does not represent anything factual....

Wonderful for the history but missing the little things. It just does not feel as welcoming as places I have stayed in this class. The service is just there. I've gotten used to a nice nespresso in the room not instant coffee like here. There is lots of character just don't expect a luxury hotel.

An absolutely gem for Jerusalem. Unmatched history of the hotel with unmistakable charm. I was there on business with 50 people on a tour and the handling of this size of group was flawless. I and our group could not have been more pleased with the service, quality of food and cleanliness of the hotel and grounds. Located within walking...

The hotel is nice and has a lot of charm and character, however, it is not really a luxury hotel. Service was friendly but the facilities could use a bit of updating. Our roomroom was spacious and had a lovely balcony overlooking the city. However, the ightstands were ti y and all the space was taken up with the lamps...

This is one of the "Best Hotels" and it lives up to its billing. The staff is very well trained, the rooms are comfortable, and the food is exactly what you need. We are here with a small (16 person) tour group, and the hotel has been most accommodating with meeting rooms.

The American Colony is the only place to stay to get a finger on the pulse of what's going on in Jerusalem. Filled with lunching diplomats, correspondents in search of the next story, and tourists on their Middle East jaunts, the hotel has a wonderful, exciting energy. The rooms are lovely and large, and have been modernised overlooking gardens. You...

Stayed here for four nights and it never faltered. We took advantage of a free upgrade promotion and stayed in a Classic Pasha room, which did not disappoint. It had cathedral ceilings, a heavenly soft bed, a wonderful rainfall shower, and nice amenities. Maid service prompt and thorough. The hotel is very well located, a 10 minute stroll to the...
