Stayed 2 nights, reception area is small, but the arrival service is excellent. Well received, everything was explained: facilities, times, schedules, etc... Was upgraded to room with balcony and recently refurbished. Now, be aware this is a colony style hotel, so even though the room was refurbished (which I don't know that was the case, but it looked fine to...

The American Colony is a landmark. Conveniently located near the Damascus Gate of the Old City, it is within walking distance of many of the main attractions of the city. The hotel has several buildings, some older than others. Check in was easy and my room was excellent. Very spacious and a nice view of the courtyard. The hotel has...

If you want to get a feeling to be in heaven, it must be to stay at this hotel. Absolutely stunning. A historic hotel with great rooms. The hotel's garden with pool is a great place to relax on. What can I say about this wonderful hotel? The whole experience was superb, from the tasteful decor which really preserved the history of the place, to the staff, the room, the breakfast, the pool & gym. I can honestly say that I can't remember a single down side. Unfortunately, we were on holiday just when the recent troubles were starting,...

This was my first trip to Israel and my work booked me into the American Colony which initially sounded a little odd. What a revelation when I got here. It is a beautiful complex of cool shady courtyards and gardens in which sit a number of pink stone old houses. The room was large with walk-in shower, sunken bath, sitting...

Wonderful hotel, great pool and sauna, great gift shop, overall, one of my favorite hotel experiences. It was expensive, but I was in the mood to splurge on perhaps my only visit to Jerusalem. It's so beautiful to have coffee in that garden with the fountain bubbling and watch the taboon bread being made. I wish the staff had explained...

We arrived here on our honeymoon initially aiming to spend three days but within 30 mins we had extended it to 5. Due to the airline disruptions we had to stay an extra day and the staff could not have been more understanding as to the fluid situation. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The tranquility of the...

Gourmet resturant in the hotelgarden. Excellent for a quiet lunch or evening dinner. Nice pool next to the "cellar" bar, and a location in walking distance to the Damascus gate. A perfect "hideaway" spot in Jersusalem.

OK so its been a few years since i stayed and the hotel is still great, staff incredible. . but wow the prices have gone through the roof. All made worse by the NIS strengthening against the US$. .in fact its so expensive it would make me think about staying some place else.

Superb hotel, an oasis of peace and tranquility in an incredible city. Staff were by far the best I'd come across in Israel - friendly, helpful and very professional. Our room was huge and really well fitted out. Although it was in the new wing, it wasn't easy to tell as it had been built in character with the rest...
