I was horrified by the lack of hygiene of the people in the kitchen. Dirty clothes, filthy hands like they haven’t wash for month. When confronted the mashgiah. He said nothing they can do about it!! I don’t consider this hotel very kosher!!!

Lovely boutique hotel in a nice part of town close to the old city.Pleasant stay and nice breakfast. Although bar was not open we went to the near by convenience store and had wine when we wanted to. Didn't use car park just taxis and so easy to get on the gett app as all taxis are Registered on this app.

The Eldan is well located in close proximity to the old city and (via) Mamilla mall, and a wonderful neighbourhood in Jerusalem. that is very walkable with great restaurants.. You get to know the local vibe and eat in places that local frequent but have the proximity to everything else that matters in your trip to Jerusalem. The staff are friendly, proactive and the breakfast were delicious.

AVOID. Moved rooms THREE times in one day. My husband booked this hotel as we were in Jerusalem to celebrate a family bat mitzvah. My husband and I traveled with his mother, and we planned to stay in a triple room with a queen bed and a twin bed. The location of the hotel is great - and parts of the hotel experience were fine, such as the breakfast provided. However, all other aspects of our stay were beyond disappointing. I have lived in Israel in the past to work and am aware of what to expect in terms of hotels and apartments. In comparison with my experience with other Israeli hotels, this was the worst. We checked in on Saturday afternoon and had booked a triple room. We got to the room and it was disgusting. The room itself was dirty, there were stains on the walls as well as the bedding, the bathroom was dirty and had black mold on it, the closet doors were coming apart from and falling off of the wall, the curtains/blinds were broken and falling off, the towels were stained and dirty. I took photographs of these issues. My husband went down to ask about the condition of the room and was told they would move us to a different room. He was told that it was our fault for traveling on Shabbat and that the staff/cleaning crew was limited during this time. We are also Jewish and have never had this issue when traveling on Shabbat. Of course staff is more limited, but the condition of the room should not be impacted by that. We were moved to a different room but this new room could not fit all three of us. As a result, my mother in law was left without anywhere to stay. Luckily we had family in a hotel across the street and she went to stay in one of their rooms and slept on their couch. This new room did look cleaner, but immediately we noticed the air conditioning did not work and the towels were used/dirty. We left the room to get a meal with our family and were told by the front staff that the AC worked and would be fixed by our return if not. When we returned, the AC did work which was a relief. I noticed the towels were still dirty so my husband went to get new towels. When we left, the ceiling began to leak quite extensively. I also have a video of this. We immediately told the front staff and they told us that there was no one who could fix it that day and that we would have to move rooms again. We - AGAIN - packed up our belongings and were moved to a new room. Because the first two rooms were problematic, we asked to see the new room before agreeing to move. In the elevator, the staff member told us "this SHOULD be one of our nicer rooms. It hopefully doesn't have mold." We were shown to a "premium" room which did look cleaner and the AC worked. We agreed to stay because we had no other options. In this room, I immediately noticed it had not been cleaned thoroughly and there were mysterious stains on the bedding and decorative chair/pillow. The bathroom was extremely small, which would have been fine, except the shower door did not close correctly and every time we used the shower the entire bathroom flooded. We stayed two nights in this hotel and it was the worst experience. We were moved three times and in the end could not stay with our mother in law who we had specifically gotten this hotel so that we could stay with. In the morning, we enjoyed the hotel breakfast and noticed the other guests seemed to be happy and to be enjoying their experience. I am not sure what went wrong with our experience, but it was really unacceptable. We appreciate the staff being responsive and moving our rooms, and understand that they did all that they could in those moments. I share this experience in hopes that it will improve the experience of others.
