The staff at the National was very helpful, getting us taxis, responding swiftly to our needs (including trying to figure out how to turn on the a/c). The room was average, with poor lighting. Lovely bathroom, lots of space to spread out our things. Food in the downstairs dining room was not very high quality and lacked any fresh fruit....

Stayed here for 2 weeks with a short break when we tried two hotels in the old city. This hotel is the best value for the money I have found in either the old city or in East Jerusalem. Clean, modern, good internet access, friendly and very helpful service, very good buffet breakfast. Can't recommend it more. We will stay...

I was here for 5-days on a G-Adventures/National Geographic group tour. Great hotel in East Jerusalem! The hotel was in a great location- easily walkable to Old Jerusalem and bars and restaurants. You should know that East Jerusalem is the Arabic/Palestinian part of town so it would be good to buy a Arabic dictionary for this side of town. There...

We stayed 5 nights. Perfect location, just 5 minutes walk to the old city. Also right behind one of the Arab bus stations, very convenient. You can walk to Jaffa street in 15-20 minutes. The tram is 5 minutes walk away. Clean room, great food, friendly staff, quiet and safe. I would definitely chose again.

The hotel is situated in the east of Jerusalem and walking distance to the Old City. You have the choice of either using the Heron Gate or the Damascus Gate. If you are Healthy and enjoying walking and shopping, this would be your best choice. You will be able to explore the east side of Jerusalem as well as the...

Staying at the National is all about a balance. If you have to keep an eye on the budget, but want a good location in Jerusalem, then you have your hotel. Yes, the upstairs corridors are a little tired. I was annoyed not to have a balcony having been told that the room did have one - so beware of...

A beautiful, clean, friendly place for anyone to stay. This Palestinian hotel is open to everyone and has a front desk that is second to none in the attention paid to the needs of its guests--whatever their religion or politics. A fabulous breakfast is served and the restaurant is just wonderful in what it offers at other times as well....

We stayed four nights during Ramadan. The cannon fired each night around 7:45 (sundown). The food was tasty, though the buffet had a lot of similar offerings from night to night. Ibrahim was a fabulous host and the cook, who had spent time in Miami was very gracious and generous. The rooms had free Internet. The TV will be disappointing...

This East Jerusalem hotel is very close to both Damascus Gate and Harod Gate. It is also very close to the Garden Tomb and the Rockerfeller Museum, both are great places to visit. So location-wise it's fantastic. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The area seems quite safe for tourists; at least that's how I felt when walking around...

The service and location of this hotel was excellent. The hotel staff was warm and friendly, what we routinely saw from Palestinians throughout our visit in the Holy Land. I've read some of the reviews and feel the hotel is on a par with most lower-mid priced hotels throughout expensive cities of Europe. As for the trash in the streets,...
