I recently spent a week at the Dove Hotel and was blown away by the wonderful generosity of the staff -- everyone from the always-smiling guy at the front desk (who helped me translate a few long Arabic documents into English for free!) to the hotel owner (who invited me to his home for an incredible Friday meal with his...

Owned by a family from Madaba in an up-market part of town (between 4th and 5th Circles), the Dove Hotel is a lovably eccentric establishment, frequented every evening by local card-players and therefore has much more life than most hotels in Amman. There is an "Irish Pub" in the basement which features a lively disco at weekends and there is...

The hotel is independent of Best Western chain so don't expect Best Western standards! The hotel is in a good area of Amman and is near to downtown Amman although you will need a taxi to ferry you around in general and in getting there in the first place The rooms, although basic, dirty, dark and of poor quality, were...

Dear All, Please never choose this hotel even if it's cheap and even if it's just for one night. We've been trapped the same way - just one night before going to Petra by car after the tiring flight from Europe. It's HORRIBLE! Smelly sheets, broken furniture, and dirty bathroom. I have no idea why it's still listed on trip...

We were looking for cheap hotel for 1 night at short notice - so we booked this through expedia for 50 USD. The hotel didn't seem very busy, so they gave us their "best suite" - which was large, but if that was their best room, I wouldn't want to see the rest ! The whole place had a rather...

This review is directed toward those who want an excellent, safe alternative to the high prices and possibly impersonal treatment of a 5-star hotel. As a business traveler, I found the internet service here, both cable and wireless, excellent--fast, reliable, and secure, and accessible from anywhere in the hotel, the bar, the restaurant, and from my room. The hotel IT...

The shower was rusty and the tub stained. The door had a gap and a good push would get it wide open. The TV was all static with tape wrapped around the remote. A filthy and humming Full size refrigerator was 3 steps from the bed. The carpet was visibly dirty. I made the mistake of ordering food (too late...

The hotel is located in a quiet side street in a residential area. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious but are in dire need of renovation, the bathrooms were grubby. All in all ok for 1 or 2 nights, but definately overpriced for the quality provided.

We were very surprised to see such poor reviews for this hotel as we really enjoyed our stay here. We had a very clean room and it seemed to have been recently redecorated (as in new drapes, sheets and curtains). Our room was very large and had a lot of character and charm and even a screened porch. The staff...
