Although we just 'turned up', I would recommend booking. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the centre of Madaba and its many restaurants & sights as well as local bakeries and shops. It also has a fab pool & sunbathing space, and car...More
The hotel is located in quiet Madaba, about a half hour outside of Amman. We used it as a midpoint of operation between Amman and the Dead Sea. There is a small store across from the hotel that sells Jordanian wine at reasonable prices, if...More
When we arrived there had been a mistake where they accidentally gave our room to someone else. They were upfront and honest about it and very apologetic and were still able to accomodate us with a different room.

Hi there. There is a daily bus to Petra leaving from Amman early in the morning. I am not sure where you would pick it up if staying at Madaba. A taxi ride to Amman from Madaba is inexpensive and can be arranged by Charl at Hotel Mariam. We chose to go to Petra from Madaba by private car with a driver arranged by Charl. It has the advantage that you can make a diversion to umm al rasas (well worth a visit) and to Kerac Castle. Set price of around 70 - 80 JD.
