The hotel was great value for the dollar. It was clean, quiet and just 3-4 blocks from main area around St Georges church. They connected me with a great taxi driver named Tawfeeq. He was very helpful to me and even to others we encountered on the trip. He is a genuine person that is extremely pleased to show you...

Salome Hotel turned out to be one of the best choices we've made on holiday in Jordan. Breakfasts were ample and tasty and the 24 hour room service kept us well fed. Free wireless, DVD'S and books to read and enjoy, apart from the comfy rooms got our attention. Within easy walking distance of other landmarks in Madaba and shops....

After our stay in Amman, which wasn't the most pleasant, our stay in Madaba was lovely. You get much better value for your money here and the Salome Hotel is a great example of this. We paid £10 less here than we did for our Amman hotel and we had a very enjoyable 3 nights. The rooms are very clean...

I hate to stay in Amman, so I choose to sleep in Madaba. And it was a right decision! Madaba is by far nearer to the Queen Alia Airport, and there are a lot of places to see! This hotel is run by the same owner of Hotel Maryam near Salome, and both of them are very good hotels. The...

This was my first time to Jordan, or the Middle East for the matter and I was pleasantly surprised. I always hear reviews about caribbean hotels being terrible and the food making them sick, but this was nothing like that. The service was absolutely amazing. I was there for 6 weeks and they became almost like a family to me....

all the staff were extremely helpful and hospitable - the manager in particular was very informative regarding madaba and Jordanian history in general - the manager did a great job of making arrangements for that - all the details were covered

skip amman if you can, stay here, if you can, and do the one-day excursions from here. The city is a gem, lots to see, area is extremely interesiting, taxi drivers are honest - like Tauwwiffql- the hotel is accomodating to all your requests. Oasis in the desert so to speak

The hotel is ideal to visit the city. It's 10 minutes walking from the center and located in a fairly quiet road. The rooms are pretty small but spotless clean - with TV (that has bad reception). Breakfast is very basic - in fact not very good. Instant coffee and cheap jam - but you get what you pay for....

Dissapointing experience! The 3 brothers were always chain smoking and sweating on the lounges watching football in Arabic. On Thursday we gave notice to cancel our stay on Saturday night but the old man at the desk said 2 days notice starts at midnight on wed! In subsequent emails his boss corrected him but all very confusing broken English. They...

Management response:

Dear Freakyflyer I'm very disappointed you feel this way. You booked through Hostel Bookers. The Hostel Bookers cancellation policy is clear and it states that the cancellation should be 2 days before the booking. You have cancelled the day before at 10:00 pm. It is not ethical to make up false comments because we have charged you. We are only...

I've stayed at almost all the hotels in Madaba, and Salome is probably my favorite. I've stayed here six times. It's a simple place, run by--I think--three friendly brothers. Don't expect much from the free breakfast, although the Salome breakfast is not inferior to any other hotel in town. Breakfasts in Jordan are generally pretty grim unless you are staying...

“Each room is unique from another so there is no cookie cutter option. My room #110 had a bathtub and dolphin spout on the sink. It was a corner room so a cross breeze was possible when wishing to open windows for fresh air. View of back parking lot on one side but view of patio garden from the other window.”
