We stayed at the City Hotel for three nights, and couldn't be happier with the choice. The front desk (Tarek in particular) is unbelievably helpful and full of great local information. Our rooms were spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was very generous, and served in a decadently decorated dining room. Especially appreciated that the front desk arranged...

We were delighted with the friendly and helpful staff, the comfortable and extremely clean rooms, the location, the breakfasts and the price! We will definitely stay here the next time we are lucky enough to travel back to Damascus.

I can't imagine picking a lovelier place to stay. Extremely reasonable and Moustafa at front desk is a big plus for the establishment. So friendly and helpful. Don't miss this place!

I booked this hotel for a two-week trip I was taking with friends through Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. We especially wanted a good place in Damascus because we'd be staying there for New Year's Eve. I'd read the great reviews and had high expectations--and I was not disappointed! From the moment of our arrival, when we were greeted by Mustafa...

My wife and I stayed at the City Hotel / Al Madinah for 4 nights from December 29th, a lovely hotel in a good location in the old city. All the staff went out of their way to help us in any way we asked. A special mention must got to Tarek who I e-mailed many times before we arrived...

Our stay in this hotel was fantastic and above what we had expected from a 3-star hotel. The lobby and rooms are beautifully furnished in traditional arabic style. The bathroom was funtional with a great shower. The staff were extremely helpful, going out of their way to assist us with whatever we needed, including organising a doctor to our room...

Stayed at this hotel for 05 days during my trip to the Syrian city and can honestly say this hotel was perfect. Traditional architechture, pleasent and helpful staff who could speak English and great location ... everything is really 05-10 minute walk away ...! The BEST surprise was the going away gift from the hotel management ... However, please note:...

We stayed for three nights in this hotel, my first impression was great, decorations are just special, i like it, and rooms were decorated nicely too, but rooms are too small and stuffed with furniture which double room doesn't give space for two people to pass, it is frustrating, is a bit too noisy at night, and bathroom sealing was...

“The rooms differ largely. Some are larger than others and have different shapes. I stayed 4 times in the hotel and each time stayed in a different room. Non have nice views. The ones in the back are totally quite as they look at the wall of another building. While the ones looking at the main street can be noisy during the day. All rooms are beautifully decorated with good wi-fi connections. Sizes of the bathrooms differ as well. Some have bathtubs and others just showers.”
