This was a great find and great room for the price. It was clean and cheerful, plenty roomy enough for 2, including in the bathroom and shower. It is not luxurious or updated but perfectly fine, clean and with a comfortable bed. Everything in Punte del Este is high priced for the summer so this was a fine option for $100 / nt. close to the water and the main street for dining and shopping, but quiet. We had the window open and heard no noise or disturbances. The breakfast was ample, beyond continental, with eggs and yogurt, juices.
I had such a spectacularly good deal from this hotel that I was prepared to put up with a lot worse than I got. The public space is very nice and breakfast more than adequate. My bedroom was small but comfortable and appropriately clean. Service was a little haphazard; each night I had to hunt for my pyjamas as they were always put somewhere different! The location is great making up for the lack of a hotel restaurant. The atmosphere is very restrained; one sensed the proprietor and her staff were very shy! But they were always helpful and when I extended my visit by one night they did so at the early bird/no refund rate which applied for the rest of my stay - not the spot rate. I call that handsome.
This is unfriendliest hotel ever and the place is tired and run down. Our room was tiny with tatty furniture and the bathroom was falling apart and covered in black mould. We were given two little sachets of shampoo to last three days and when we asked for fresh towels on day three only two small hand towels turned up. It promised a snack bar when we booked but this had been closed although it was high season. The girl who was responsible at breakfast could not have been ruder if she tried. The promised car parking under the hotel had such small places that it was a challenge in anything larger than a Mini to park unscathed. Only plus points were excellent wifi and a convenient position
Rooms aré microrooms and they look dirty, athough they are clean and manteinance is very very poor. Only advantages is its location near very good restaurants and near the harbour and the main Shoping area. For the fascino beaches you better rent a car.
The rooms are small, but they are comfortable for a weekend. Bathroom is tiny. Really clean hotel, just one block from Gorlero St. and one block from the sea. Walking distance to Puerto and restaurants and bars.
