We continue to stay at The Grand not only for their perfect location but also for their friendly and caring staff. Some of the few shortcomings I mentioned after my last stay have disappeared. Rooms are still very nice, they have great amenities and their outdoor pool is simply great to have a swim. Buffet breakfast is very good and the choice of food is vast. Very friendly breakfast service staff. Great beach club opposite the hotel. We definitely will be coming back!

Everything was very proper. From the check-in to my last minute, everything ran smooth and easily. They have all the services of a very good hotel but the Best parte was the people running ir. Polite, professional and attentive to any requesy or need of the guest, they create a homely climate that make your stay unforgettable. My special mention to Mrs. Garoffio that processed a claim with charm and style.

Wonderful hotel with excellent service. The beachfront is beautiful and the towel/lounger service included with the rooms is great. Very clean hotel. If you have a car, parking is included/complimentary- also a big plus! Quiet location but a nice, close walk down the beach to the busier part of Punta.

Great hotel, friendly staff, and the beach is the real attraction...only hotel with its own beach across the street and included in room price are the lounge chairs, towels and umbrellas that the friendly attendants set up for you. A small tip ($5 USD max) is appropriate but not expected. The hotel lobby restaurant is great for lunch., and the hotel's Lighthouse restaurant has a varied menu and wonderful food. We arrived late at night and it was perfect for dinner that night. Breakfast is included and is wonderful, variety of foods and sumptuous. Champagne is included!. We were there for four nights. We took an ocean view room and this was a treat. Not all rooms are like that. The hotel is only 6 years old and is very spacious and modern with an indoor and outdoor pool and spa. Working via email with concierge ahead of trip, we planned a city tour on arrival ($25.00/person) that lasted 5 hours. Took us everywhere, including the Ralli Museum (30 minutes inside this free museum) and Casa de Pueblo for the sunset at tour's end. I recommend it to anyone. Twelve people on the tour. We went to San Ignacio for lunch at the restaurant everyone goes to and it was wonderful. The name escapes me, but anyone in any hotel in Punte del Este will know the name. Make reservations for every restaurant you go to for lunch or dinner and if your concierge does it, you'll get a better table and wait less time, if not at all. A bottle of wine is actually less costly that 2-3 glasses. The wines are so good and about 10 USD. The concierge Adriana, was terrific as was Yamila who communicated with us via e-mail several times with dinner and site seeing recommendations. Like in Argentina, you do not need Uruguayan pesos as they welcome USD. If so, suggest you bring about 100 singles and 200 in five dollar bills plus whatever cash you wish. Unlike Argentina where taxis are very cheap, taxis are expensive in Punte del Este. We took Ubers everywhere (even from the airport to hotel) and the app on your i-phone works there. Ubers there are as cheap as taxis are in Buenos Aires. Tip: while you should tip the restaurant bill in cash, ALWAYS ALWAYS use your credit card to pay the actual bill for the meal. This is because there is a tax added at the bottom of every bill which you pay...BUT, if you pay by credit card, you will automatically get the tax refunded to you in the form of a credit on your credit card in a day or so after the bill is charged to you card because Uruguay does that. If you pay a hotel bill, store bill, or restaurant bill in cash, you will NOT get the tax you paid, refunded to you. A fabulous trip combined with our stay in Buenos Aires during President's week..

We are presently staying at the hotel and have been here for eight days. The hotel and the staff are great. The rooms are large and the bathroom is quite large and well lite. The breakfast is great and you can eat from the plentiful buffet and if you want an expresso or some type of egg or french toast all one has to ask. The boys Facundo and Marcos are very friendly and they go out of their way at breakfast to get you anything you might want. The beach which is across the road is one of the nicest in Punta del Este and the hotel provides you with chairs, umbrellas and towels that the staff at the beach take care of, you don't have to reserve a spot or anything like that, just show up and get one of the staff to set you up. One nice feature is that the hotel has a number of bikes, locks and helmets which one can use all day. My wife and I rose by bike to the golf course nearby, it was only a 10-minute ride. Perhaps the best feature of the hotel is that staff, from those that clean the rooms all the way up to the front desk and administration go out of their way to make your stay very pleasant. I highly recommend the hotel.
