Nice boutique hotel and in general everything is comfortable. Room is fine and good with comfortable bed but bathroom tiny shower with low water pressure. No complimentary bottled water in room. I paid $4 USD for a water from mini bar. A place with this caliber should have 1-2 bottles daily included (as other 4 and 5 star hotels in Uruguay y Argentina). Pool is quaint and secluded. Breakfast is quite good but crowded. My main disappointment with this hotel was the front desk service I received. I dealt with the same gentleman at checkin and checkout - Diego I believe, who was not friendly and actually cold and borderline curt. No smile, no care. Not a good representation as other staff members were a delight. Even more concerning was that I think this Diego fellow is one of the managers. Anyways, besides his attitude and lack of service the place was great!

Stayed 2 nights. Very friendly and welcoming staff both at reception and in the restaurant. Rooms are spacious and very clean. The pillows are the best ever and lovely duvets and white covers. The breakfast is buffet and great choice including fresh juices and good coffee. Ate at the restaurant in the evening but only the ‘fast food’ - Uruguayan sandwich and toasted sandwich which was plenty to share between 2. Waiter suggested it was a big meal and one meal may be enough. It was. Only downside is that it’s slightly out of town and away from the harbour. So a 30 minute walk to downtown. But close to Atlantic Ocean for beach. Supermarket very close by. Enjoyed our stay.

We ended a tour of Argentina and Uruguay at the Awa Boutique Hotel. It was a perfect ending. The staff was friendly and the zen vibe was exactly what I needed after moving every other day. It was a little too chilly for the outdoor pool, but thank goodness they have a small heated indoor pool and a jacuzzi. It was warm enough to just lay out by the pool, but not get in the water. I enjoyed lounging in the library. I regret not having enough time to just sit by the fireplace or outside near the big Buddha. To top it off, they have the #1 restaurant in the city, and all you need to do is walk downstairs. Awesome!

Let's starts with where there is room for improvement: 1) One of the receptionists would have been a bit friendlier. 2) Bathroom is small and could use a renovation (shower is in the bathtub with a glassdoor, not easy for older people to get in and out) What we liked: 1) The spa was very nice. Small, like the hotel, but has everything needed. B3) Breakfast was good. 3) We liked the fact that the hotel is small and also liked the design. 4) The room itself is ok, with a good bed. I needed to have something ironed. They could not provide me an ironing device, but proposed to do have someone do it for me within the hour (for 6USD), which I appreciated, as it really needed ironing. I would recommend the hotel and would go back.

We actually lived in Uruguay for several years and this was our go-to hotel! The staff is lovely and for Punta it is the best value and the most elegant option without spending close to $500 per night! Get the suite...worth it! And of course enjoy a great breakfast!
