Front desk personnel need to be more willing to help and also and more aware of guests coming in and out. Make sure they honor the breakfast-included option when reserving through booking.com. Noises and employees taking can be heard on the corridors of the 10th floor late at night
We had to find an airport hotel quickly due to a last-minute flight cancellation. We are Hilton loyalty programme members but ended up booking this hotel using a well-known booking website’s ‘Mobile only offer’ which was great value at $65 for a suite (only $20 more than a standard room) and cheaper than booking directly via Hilton’s own website. We chose a suite as we weren’t sure how long we would have to stay due to issues with flights and wanted extra space. This proved to be a good choice. The room was spacious, with a separate lounge and bedroom and 1.5 bathrooms. It would comfortably suit a family of 4. The décor was modern with a double shower, plenty of storage/working space and coffee/tea making facilities. It would be suitable for a long term stay. The room faced the busy main road in front of the hotel but the sound proofing was so good there was no audible traffic noise. The hotel is located in a residential area next to a large Condominium building and there is a small convenience store in the adjoining building on the ground floor facing the main road. There is also a bakery/café a 5-minute walk away on Carrera 82. We found the reception staff to be very professional and helpful. They also spoke English well. As we managed to organise flight changes, we required a late checkout. We organised this through reception and were offered the room for 50% of the rate we paid which was very good value. The one negative point was the restaurant. As we had a very stressful time on arrival trying to organise alternative flights, and arrived at the restaurant tired and hungry at around 8pm. There were 2 staff members working. Neither spoke much English. We sat down and waited for service. We managed to figure out that the menu available (limited) could be viewed via the app shown on the table. We quickly chose drinks and a main course and when the waiter eventually arrived tried to place our order. Firstly, we were told they could not serve alcohol. We ordered water. The first meal we ordered was not available. We chose another. It took almost 20 minutes for the water to arrive. We waited a further 20 minutes and still had no food. By this tome two other tables had arrived and been served their meals. We asked the male waiter where our food was and he replied ’2 minutes’. He then disappeared. After over an hour we asked the female waitress for our food. She didn’t seem to understand. When our food finally arrived 10 minutes later, one of the meals was tepid. By this stage we were too hungry and tired to bother having this resolved so ate up quickly and waited for the bill. We sat for another 10 minutes after finishing and waited for the wait staff who had disappeared again. We finally found the female waitress coming out of the kitchen and asked for the bill at the counter. We signed this to be charged to our room and passed it back to her. When we turned around she started loudly saying to us ‘cash’, ‘cash’. We had no idea what she was talking about and proceeded to go back towards the lobby. As we arrived at the reception area the male waiter was chasing us brandishing the bill. If you are familiar with a certain 1970’s British sitcom called Fawlty Towers you can imagine the scene. We stopped at reception and asked the staff there to translate what was going on. A discussion in Spanish eschewed. The receptionist finally said ‘its fine’ and the waiter sheepishly went back to the restaurant. A point to note for management. The restaurant experience was a shambles and the staff there desperately need training or replacing. There is a shuttle bus to the airport that goes on the hour up to 10pm. This is run efficiently. Despite the issues with the restaurant, we would still highly recommend this hotel.…
We came late at night, tired and hungry from al day traveling. They kept the kitchen open until we’ve got fed. Diego, the Barman, excellent customer service. 10 ! Extra neat clean room and early morning breakfast made or day! Thank you.
Alejandra was an absolute all star at the front desk. She was super friendly, professional, and always smiling. The room upgrade to the one bedroom suite with balcony was such a nice welcome. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the room had all amenities necessary for a great stay, including free water bottles. The breakfast was nice, with eggs made to order. Water wasn't included there, which was kinda strange. The proximity to the airport is great, only 8 minutes away. We used a regular taxi as the uber drivers aren't allowed to pick up there. The bar also had really steep pricing for both drinks and food. That being said, I would stay there again as the staff was super friendly and helpful!
As a permanent resident of Colombia I travelled to Bogota via a repatriation flight in late June. Upon arrival I was required to isolate for a period of 14 days due to the Covid-19 pandemic prior to proceeding to my city of residence. I could not have chosen a better place to do so than the Garden Inn. The hotel offered a quarantine package which included a standard room, three meals per day and was tax inclusive at a very reasonable rate. I spent a bit more for a room with a balcony, to enjoy the afternoon sun and fresh air during my confinement. The room was nicely furnished, the bed and bedding quite comfortable, and the blackout curtains probably the best I've seen. The internet connection worked well during my entire stay. I was pleasantly surprised to find the room equipped with central heating, a rarity in Bogota and very nice on those cool mornings when temperatures sometimes drop to 9-10 degrees C. My only complaint is that the reading chair was too uncomfortable to sit in for any length of time. Since I was confined to my room I was entirely dependent on room service. Maria Eugenia, Edgar, Alexander, and Juan Carlos diligently called for my orders and brought each meal in a timely and courteous manner. Thank you all! Also thanks to Adriana from the office who stopped by every couple of days to check on my needs.... coffee pods, bottled water, towels and the like. In sum, I will most likely stay at this hotel again on my next trip to Bogota.…
