Huge room+ensuite+nice breakfast included+pool+shuttle service to and from airport. 2 problems=isolated location, far from town, nothing around the hotel+20K (almost $7 US) for 1 hour of wifi. A place to overnight for a next day flight.

The hotel was like hidden in the city,a very nice hotel and the staff are helpful, its was like an island hotel situated in the middle of all the buzzing cars in the city and its cool. The food is great with the filipino chef preparing the food. Pretty sure will be back at this hotel again.

The Hideaway is ran by a local and the workers are all wontoks, which makes it a safe haven in an otherwise not so safe area. Those visiting to Port Moresby for the first time were surprised by the size of the fence surrounding the hotel compound and the number of security at the gates. The staff were always helpful...

We were picked up by the hotel van which was good. The room we were given was on the third floor or fourth for American travelers. No lift, so all stairs. The room reminded me of a jail cell. Small one little barred window and no hot water. Because we spent three weeks in the bush with cold water only,...

The hotel is close to the airport but not in the best place. In fact it is close to everything but also far from everything. The restaurant food is pretty good but the rooms are old and need a major facelift. The facilities are also in need of an upgrade. There are much better places than this for your business...

The hotel is quite basic which in most countries will be US$25 but here in Port Moresby it is US$170 which is not high for expensive Port Moresby. Rooms are really basic and NO wifi - as the front desk told me "wifi is only for the staff and not for the guests". So-so friendly staff with a very friendly...

My experience was so opposite of the other review (which reads too professionally to look authentic) that the place was comfy and cozy. First, expect to walk up 3 flights of narrow, disjointed stairs to get to your room. Second, it appears that either there are no maintenance inspections or no maintenance followups. Light bulbs in the rooms were burnt...

We just stayed at the Hideaway Hotel (POM) it is close to the airport (5 min drive) and was a wonderful stay. It was quite even though next to airport and busy road. The food was lovely and the accommodation was wonderful. The pool had a great atmosphere with lovely palm trees next to it. There was a little shop...

When we first tried the place in 2004, it was very well run. Great customer service with help to carry bags up the stairs (no elevators but three stories!) Something happened in 2005/2006 and the place is a dump now. In June 2012 we had trouble finding a room in the city so booked the most expensive room at Hideaway....

I stayed here for a conference. The building is 1980s/90s with a multistorey layout. The place is a bit shabby and dusty and backs onto a busy road. The room was a Deluxe, but still quite small and rough. The budget rooms are a bit like a prison cell (according to the other delegates)! Holes through the wall around the...
