Like the rooms, its spacious and the staff are very friendly. Location wise, its near town and short walks to cafes and markets. Buffet dinner on the ground floor restaurant are worth the fuss otherwise the Japanese restaurant serves some delicious cuisines. Also, made a few friends while I was waiting at the lounge or dining in the restaurants so...

I stayed here for several weeks whilst working in Honiara. Fortunately I had a refurbished room on the top floor which was suitable to my needs. The other rooms were tired and definitely in need of refurbishment. Repair requests were met on an ad hoc basis. The staff were beautiful and friendly and had a genuine desire to cater for...

The place is way too expensive for what you get in return. I stayed from memory in Room 509 for about 5 days and the toilet leaked the whole time. It's a great pity because the hotel has obviously seen better days. But is badly needs refurbishment and could do with new linen. Breakfast was okay but somewhat expensive. However...

I stayed at this property for business. The room was ok and basically clean, the are starting to look tired with little bits of damage here and there. I had an issue with the in room safe which I asked to be repaired 4 times and it was never done which was inconvenient. Staff were friendly enough, very handy to...

The location on the waterfront was good and the staff friendly. The standard room was comfortable but very basic for the cost. Repeated requests were required before we had a working safe and TV. The hotel restaurants weren't cheap and the food was disappointing eg the calamari was a fried frozen product and tasteless. The hotel initially charged more than...

A conveniently located Hotel, but its tired with many rooms in need to refurbishment. While staff are friendly, Front Desk, Restruant, Room Service are 'patchy'. Improvements must be made if tourism is to 'take off'. Disappointing standards for a Japanese owned and managed hotel. Poor value for money.

We stayed there one night in August 2014 and reserved plus paid in advance the "seaview east". The "gardenview" and "seaview west" are not renovated. When we arrived in the morning, they gave us a "gardenview" so we told them they made a mistake and was comming back in the evening for the right one. When we arrived at 6pm,...

Let's just say that the Garden View rooms are depressingly old, moldy, extremely dark with occasional crawling visitors. Although I have not seen the rooms in the new wings, even from the outside, you can tell that they are almost from a different hotel. The common areas (lobby, restaurants) are newly renovated and nice, but the poolside and the oceanside...

Slightly overpriced but in excellent location for business. % minutes walk to city centre. Comfortable rooms with most ammenities. Wifi not very reliable. Good dining and refreshment locations. Good for casual business meetings and working lunches.

Recently stayed at the Kitano Mendana in Honiara for business and found the hotel to be extremely well situated, with good waterfront views and very comfortable rooms. Hotel has had some renovations and I was given one of these rooms. Spacious room and good airy foyer. Restaurant served good quality meals.
