Blue Bay Resort is a lovely, locally owned place outside of Vila. Eric and his family do a wonderful job of making you feel at home and relaxed. They have thought of the little things that make a difference e.g. pegs on the line for your beach towels, sunscreen at reception. The rooms are spacious with two sleeping areas, a sitting area and a large front verandah overlooking the bay. Yummy food made especially for us, thanks. Sadly we were only there for two nights and had to leave early due to CV 19. Stay safe guys and hopefully we will see you again for a longer stay. Thank you
Stayed for 2 days with family. Bit out of the way , but that is what makes this place special. Fantastic location right on the water. Owner Eric and the rest of staff are so welcoming and definitely make you feel at home . If you want to get away from the rat race for a few days this place is ideal.
A 10 minute bumpy drive from Port Vila but so worth it! You can still enjoy all the Port Vila sights whilst staying at Blue Bay and relax near the water! We had a great time with our family of 5 (3 teenage boys), visiting the nearby Beach Bar and watching the fire show on our first night, then Eric the owner took us out for the day to see the Port Vila sights. He gave us a great insight into all things Vanuatu! The next day some of the staff came with us in kayaks to go snorkeling. So nice! We absolutely adored Mama nambawan! Lots of love!
Bluebay resort may seem far away on the bumpy road to Devils Point however on arriving you can feel the serenity hit you. You sleep to the cool breeze and sounds of the ocean. Wake up to a fantastic continental breakfast prepared by Christine and the kitchen crew. Days are spent reading or lounging on the beach chairs and finding hermit crabs. The kayaks are free and a good paddle can take you to a beautiful reef only possibly in low tide. Take a pair of binoculars to watch the cruise ships coming in & out of Port Vila harbour. Thank you Eric for an enjoyable holiday. We will be back!
Thank you Eric, Christine, Alfred, Graeme, Paul and the whole Blue Bay Resort team for a wonderful 7 day stay. From the prompt email replies when trying to choose a place to stay very last minute to organising tours, transfers to the airport, city or Beach bar or anywhere else we wanted to go, nothing was a problem! The location is magical - so close to the water, listening to the waves at night is relaxing. The breeze is cooling especially on the humid days. It is so quiet because it is 20 mins out of Port Vila. Happy hour is a must. Sitting on the seats out the front with a G&T or cocktail in hand while the sun sets is bliss. Graeme is the best G&T maker! Food is yummy with the breakfast filling and changing every few days. While we stayed we had banana pancakes, french pastries and a local meat/taro concoction wrapped in lap lap leaves. There was cereal, eggs cooked to your preference, french toast and fresh fruit. Dinner had a selection of pizzas, pasta and meat dishes comparable in price to Australia. There are other places to eat nearby. We ate at the Beach Bar which is about a 10min drive away. It has an amazing fire show on every Friday night. Make sure you book in early for that! Snorkelling and kayaking straight off the beach was fun. Lots of fish to see. Take a little bit of bread with you and feed the fish. We kayaked across to the island which is made from coral. Heaps of hermit crabs to see too. The rooms are clean and comfortable with plantation shutters to help direct the breeze. We had a family bungalow with a queen bed in one room and two singles in the other, two lounge seats inside and a big table with chairs outside to either have dinner at (if we didn't want to eat in the restaurant) or play lots of card games. We also had some pallet swings outside our room. Our teenagers loved lounging on them. All the staff are welcoming and love sharing their culture with you. We will definitely be back! Planning our next trip now. 😁…
