It is good value for the rooms and it has a communal element that is the main draw-card. You have to check for high tides to go swimming on the reef nearby. The rooms in the main house are old-school, back-packer design with walls not reaching the ceiling. I snored and woke up others and got woken up to shut up. I like the people running the place and the location is good (V150 to anywhere in Vila via public bus).

Booked via Airbnb, no hassle, the person on duty was there waiting for us despite our very late arrival. The main house has backpacker style rooms while we stayed up the hill in the bungalow. Well equipped, clean, cozy, sleeps 5, nice terrace with ocean views. Great efficient service, the gas canister emptied during our stay, was changed quickly, internet went crap at some stage, they set up an alternative connection on the day with a note of apology on the table. Included is a nice breakfast with fresh fruit platter and bun from the local bakery. Well located within 10 minute walk of the nearest beach. Collective minivan cabs run on the road just outside very minute or so to take you pretty much everywhere you want on the island. And all the staff was really nice and helpful. Highly recommended for a stay off the beaten path.

Thank you for your well thought, kind & honest review Gueris. It was great to have you with us. You and your family were considerate and understanding people to have dealt with the unfortunate inconveniences that occurred during your stay. Your words are much appreciated. Thanks again, and best to you and your family. -Treetops Management

I loved staying here. The complimentary breakfast is well worth it. The beds are SO comfortable. They are the most comfortable beds out of everywhere I've stayed in Vanuatu so far. The wifi was down one night, but the next it was strong enough for me to stream movies while in my room. The atmosphere is quiet, with not many people staying here. The bathrooms were also extremely clean. There is also complimentary shampoo, which helps. I didnt see ANY insects in the bathrooms while I was there, which is almost unheard of for Vanuatu, especially after rain.

The woman is nice but the manager is the worst ever... He is yelling at customer and threaten you. The place is dirty, with big spider, no sink to brush your teeth, no light in the toilet or door to the shower, poor room quality... and it's just a sum up ! It's way to expensive for this poor experience. Do go there !!!!

Sorry readers, but this Treetops Lodge does not exist. The comments are dated 3 years ago after Treetops Lodge had been wrecked by a catastrophic cyclone (the worst ever recorded in the South Pacific to that date). It was temporarily occupied and operated by people provisionally residing there, their home having also been severely damaged by the cyclone. Since that time Treetops Lodge have been repaired and fully renovated and the professional new staff is looking after guest to their full satisfaction. The owner

My 3rd time, staying at Treetops. My husband's first. With hubby paying this time, I chose the slightly more expensive rock&timber bungalow for us. It's at the top of the path, truly in the tree tops, with a glimpse of Erakor Lagoon from its front deck. You know you're on holidays the moment you enter the room. This is no Best Western. It's cosy, rustic. I just love this place. First night, there's an unexpected celebratory dinner down on the main deck where we met several other guests. Fabulous bunch. Organised a trip with one of the couples for the next day, then slowly climbed up the path to our little nook. I've always made friends at Treetops. It's that sort of place. Breakfast is on the owner's-house deck. French-inspired breads and tropical fruits. Yumm. Friendly staff, happy tourists. Very happy husband - he rather liked our bathtub with its own view of, guess what, tree tops. Now to plan my 4th stay.
