We have just got back from 8nights at Hideaway Island Resort. Our family consists of myself and three daughters 6,4,3yrs. This is our second visit to Vanuatu in twelve months. Last year we stayed at The Holiday Inn but after a day visit to Hideaway Island we always said - 'we would go back' and we did. We booked 15...

Myself and friends have just returned from a wonderful eight days in Vanuatu and settling in at the Hideaway Island Resort. There were seven of us, all university students from Wellington, New Zealand and let me tell you that this was a holiday none of us will forget! From jumping off the ferry for the first time, it took us...

This is probably the best place to stay for budget travellers who don't want to be too far from town. The island is tiny and accessible by a small boat running back and forth from the main land throughout the whole day for guests (free) and visitors (a small fee redeemable for food and drinks). The place is clean and...

Having been to Hideaway back in 2011, this was a revisit to Paradise! The flights (Virgin), the staff waiting at the airport to pick me up, my first view of this beautiful little island - surrounded already by sheer beautiful bliss - was like "coming home"!!! How is it possible to rate such an amazing place, with all of the...

This was a great place to stay particularly for those that like/love snorkelling and diving. Both can be done straight off the beach or further afield. Its a lovely protected marine sanctuary, clean clear water and lots of fish and coral. The island is approximately 15 minute car/bus ride from port Vila and a 5 minute boat ride (that opperates...

I recently stayed in the two bedroom villa on Hideaway island for 8 nights with my wife and sister and found it to be a lovely retreat. The villa is certainly large enough for 4 people and once in our villa we felt like we had the whole island to ourselves, as it is located on the ocean side of...

In a nut shell i would highly recommend Hideaway Island resort. Good clean amenities, pool, bar / restaurant with good food. Coral beach with its own reef, great snorkelling and its own underwater post box! Its located 10 mins drive from the airport. Its only a couple of minutes in frequent cheap buses to Port Villa town. Its a 30...

Went to Hideaway in 2003 and loved it so decided to go back with the family. Looked on line last week and saw a bungalow was available for this week, flights worked too. Phoned them to check what it would be like to push a wheelchair around, couldn't remember what the paths etc were like and our 6 yr old...

This was our second visit to Hideaway, we went in 2010 for a week, this time we stayed at a different resort (Erakor Island see sep review) but had one night back at Hideaway mainly just for the snorkelling. We stayed in a ocean side bungalow, 2 adults and 2 kids and for us it was great. We love Hideaway....

We spent a week on Hideaway with our 1 year old. We chose it as you can snorkel right off the beach so we wouldn't have to take whole day trips just to do a bit of snorkeling. The snorkeling is quite good, there are heaps of fish, a fair bit of coral and as a guest we were able...
