I booked this hotel since most hotels in Yangon are really expensive and not really value for money... It is all a matter or managing expectations... the hotel is clean, old and tired... location is great and service is quite good... We only spent 2 nights here and were "satisfied" since we knew what we were getting into... Room size...

Thanks to previous reviewers of this hotel for their comments. I based my decision pretty much on what they said and they were dead on. Location, excellent! Pretty central to be able to walk to several sites (Shwedagon, Zoo, Chinatown, Market). Also followed "asdavis" advice to upgrade to a higher floor to have a view of the pagoda. We stayed...

The hotel location is great. It's worth upgrading to a room with a view of Shwedagon Pagoda. If not, plan on spending time on the roof top! The hotel itself is outdated, but that seems to the be norm in Myanmar. The rooms and facility were clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Shwedagon was walking distance, as...

Accommodation in Myanmar is ridiculously pricy and at first we were taken aback by the quality of room versus the price charged. This Hotel is perfectly situated, within walking distance to allot of the attractions. The Staff are extremely friendly and able to assist with directions etc. Our room was very spacious but unfortunately smelt a bit mouldy, the decor...

The hotel is well located but in dire needs of a renovation. Generally speaking, hotels in Yangon are very expensive and the pricing is rather absurd and illogical. So in the 100 dollar range this comes out as a decent option. The rooms are tacky but the management doesnt seem to care too much as they are able to sell...

I stayed here during a business trip, because all the other nicer hotels were fully booked. At first, I was disappointed with my room. It was dark and a bit musty. The hotel breakfast was nice though, and I saw that I was in the same boat as other business travelers. This is kind of a spill over hotel when...

Ok, so this was first stop on our Myanmar tour....we left home with minimal expectations with regards accommodation. This hotel is in the most perfect position in Yangon, you can walk everywhere, if you are so inclined! Check I was seamless, elevator worked well and we never had to wait long, the fact that it only stops every other floor...

Like everywere in Yangon, due to shortage of rooms your always pay "too much". With this in mind, this place is a good option. Location very convenient, walking distance to the big Pagoda, central station and the big market. Hotel is dated, rooms are tired but the airco works fine and hot water all the time. Odd detail; the ceiling...

Currently staying at Alfa. A gloomy hotel with claustrophobic corridors, small rooms, wall paper peeling off the walls, greyish bathrooms, etc (I visited 3 rooms to compare). A room of that kind in Saigon, Phnom Penh or Vientiane costs $20 maximum, here it is $100. Relatively clean though, and definitely a nice sky bar. Come for the sky bar...

Well what can I say. We booked late and with the lack of hotels in Yangon, this was the last of the hotels available to book. The people are genuinely nice in the hotel. The staff smile, speak great English and try very hard. Unfortunately the infrastructure was very poor. The hotel looked like it was from a 1970's and...
