My girlfriend and I stayed here in December 2012 - it was our first hotel of our two week visit to Myanmar. The hotel itself exceeded our expectations... the room was very welcoming and comfortable, the bed was comfortable and the food was acceptable. The bathroom had a chest height shower head next to the toilet, but it was manageable....

We were disappointed in the Alamanda. We stayed in the garden room, which was a lovely setting, but it seemed to us that the amenities in the room had not been given much thought. The lighting by the bed was poor and precluded reading, there was a closet with 3 hangars, and an upper shelf, but no place to put...

This is a charming inn in the midst of a residential district of Yangon. The tropical garden and the rustic restaurant are very attractive which, together with the good food on offer, is probably why this inn is an expat hangout. The rooms are charmingly rendered in an antique style with mosquito nets and armoires. The latter are too small...

Stayed here in December 2012 booked via internet which was hassle free. They arranged for an airport pick-up which worked really well given the number of people and general confusion at the airport. The Hotel was clean, well run, friendly and served excellent food. The restaurant serves a wicked steak. They were outstandingly helpful in answering all of our questions with...

We walked from the Sedona Hotel (dull, but OK) for dinner and found ourselves in at a tapas night with a band and about 200 ex-pats. Loved it and wish we'd stayed. Having met nothing but smilles and good will from the Burmese for three weeks I suppose we could have managed with some grumpy French owners (if indeed they...

We stayed here for one night at the end of a tour of Myanmar. Alamanda Inn is located in the embassy district - relatively quiet and leafy compared to the noise and bustle of the city centre where we'd begun our tour. I agree with Sn0wLe0pard that the French lady owners can appear brusque, and it is true that rooms...

I had my last night between flights at Alamanda Inn. I have stayed in various accommodation in Yangon, but this was superb, the rooms, the garden, the dining/sitting area. All very relaxed, just what's needed in warm Yangon. The food was fresh and delightful, the music gorgeous as well. I compare Alamanda to 2 of my favourite boutique inns in...

I'd like to start by setting out my credentials. I have travelled to Myanmar (Burma) and specifically Yangon over a dozen times, and I have stayed at numerous hotels and guesthouses, so I know what comprises a good and bad experience there. In my view, this Inn is very overrated. I was picked up from the airport, as arranged, and...

Stayed overnight and ate several times at the restaurant. The food is excellent, staff are eager to please and the owners very attentive. Liked the rooms had a real colonial feel to them, spacious, teak floors, simlpy decorated but with nice touches like fresh flowers in the rooms, homely feel. Of all the places we stayed in Yangoon this for...

The five of us stayed at Alamanda for 3 nights and simply loved it.  As the inn is a conversion from a home, the rooms still have that homy feeling unlike your regular hotels. The rooms are spacious. We were in downstairs rooms 5 and 6, and layer room no. 2. Room 5 and 6 have its own front area...
