Great hotel. Good position for the shwedagon and an oasis from what can be a frustratingly busy city. Prices are now what we would expect from modern Myanmar. Nice pool area and a great wooden colonial feel to the rooms

We stayed at the Savoy Hotel for 4 nights. It had a lovely colonial feel and the rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was excellent as were the breakfasts. The small swimming pool was an oasis to cool off in the heat of the afternoon.

We began our honeymoon at the Savoy and it made for the perfect start. The building is gorgeous and hugely evocative. Breakfast overlooking the beautiful pool is wonderful. The communal areas are comfortable and atmospheric. Our room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and turned down with red roses, fruit and sweets every day. The only let down was the...

Strings of fragrant jasmine grace the lobby decorated with exquisite art – statues of clay figures carrying loads, bronze figurines and sculptures. Antique teak furniture and polished wooden floors take you to a bygone era. The little touches in the room - plants in the bathroom, a vintage photograph, corridors with windows connecting the rooms makes you feel you are...

With Yangon having one of the best collections of colonial-era buildings in Asia, it was a logical next step to try and stay in one! Spent 2 nights at the end of my Myanmar travels and the Savoy was an excellent place to relax and simply enjoy the hotel. Very close to Shwedagon Pagoda, the hotel really has two parts:...

We started our 3 week trip to Myanmar here. It was a bad start as one of our suitcases had been left in Dubai in transit. The reception staff were very helpful phoning the airport for us many times and giving us updates. Our room was a good size on second floor overlooking the pool and was clean and comfortable....

Stayed for two nights at the end of our trip. Lovely building with a really nice feel to it. Room pleasant, not as special as other places, but clean, comfortable and functional. Teak floors. A terrific hotel, with wonderful efficient and careful staff. Nothing is too much trouble.
