The location is terrific, as others have mentioned. Most everything else is good enough for a budget hotel: friendly staff, place to make reservations and change money, ok breakfast, satisfactory room. Yangon is not the greatest city in the world for finding a hotel, so The Central is fine.

Good location, friendly people can't compensate for short-comings. The beds are so narrow, kept losing my pillow or my leg went over the side. Worst is the shower: First morning water would not get hot, they fixed that for next morning. But the shower head produced just a trickle of water, low-flow water saving shower head gone wild! I am... More

Best offering this hotel has is its location in the centre of the city! Walkable distance to all the colonial sights and even Shwedagon temple if you are feeling active (20-25 min walk). Very easy to get taxis here and all the taxi drivers know it. Place is very old and run down, a little dirty, needs renovation, but with... More

We stayed 5 days 4 nights in this hotel. No doubt this hotel accommodation in Yangon is expensive due to the number of available hotels are limited. But the hotel is located at a good location to scenic sites although mainly Pagodas and Scot Market. For those who are into gemstones, precious stones, there are plentiful in Scot market. But... Because of its proximity to the main markets in Yangon, this is a good option BUT, needs a big lift in terms of rooms amenities and services. Rooms are okay but a bit outdated and you can hear what the guests at the other room is talking or if they have their TV on. They advertise spa services on one... More

Stayed here for one night during a weekend trip to Yangon. As mentioned by other travelers, the location of this hotel is its best feature. Its at walking distance from the Scott Market and the Sule Pagoda. Rooms were very clean and provided everything that was necessary to make the stay comfortable. Indeed the hotel looks like it needs to... More

Stayed here during my stopover at Yangon before heading out to other parts of Myanmar and as mentioned in other reviews, the location is indeed central where Scott's Market is opposite and there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel is in need of refurbishment as the decor looks like it has been there since the 80's. While... More

Stayed twice on one trip around the country. The hotel is simple, the accommodation acceptable without being flash and the staff very helpful. The positioning is great - a few hundred meters from the main markets - the originally named Scott Market, and a short and always terrifically interesting walk into the centre of town. The small restaurant is good... More

It is a good value budget hotel, the hotel is a bit old-fashioned (sort of a 60s asian style hotel) but overall is clean and acceptable. As its name suggested the hotel has a wonderful central location. Market is just a few minutes walk away. wifi service is good inside the room and at the lobby, we can upload and... More

The hotel is in a good location and the famous Bogyoke Market is just a 5 min walk away. My room was clean with comfortable beds. Each room has a fridge mini bar and a hairdryer. The buffet breakfast has limited fare but enough variety. There is a Malaysia Airlines ticket office in the lobby and a travel agency just... More
