The location is really good and when arriving at the guest house it appears as a little oasis in the mid of a bustling, hot and dusty city. The rooms and bathrooms are then quite disappointing. The walls bear traces of a moist and humid summer with many mold stains, the floor of the bathroom is made of wooden slates...

We stayed here for our two nights in Yangon and we were very pleased! Best of all was the kind and charming staff, they helped us book taxi and buses. The room was clean and the decoration simple which we appreciated. The air con was functioning ok. The location is also good with just a short walk to Shwedagon Pagoda....

It was a wonderful little guest house, we were greeted with the biggest smiles, and the warmest of welcomes. We were fortunate enough to have a room with a balcony and screened windows that opened. The breakfast that was included was delicious, ant the outside restaurant offered a lunch and dinner menu as well. We had dinner there one night,...

After 2 wonderful weeks in Myanmar this was the only disappointment. The singles rooms are in an outhouse and have no windows/ unsecure lock on door. I was moved instead to a small double room in the main building but warning this room really badly smelt of fumes ( either gas or paint) and gave me an awful headache. You...

As noted by many others, the staff are lovely and very helpful, though many of them do struggle to communicate in English. Just about every conversation I had or witnessed was strained and difficult. Rooms are very disappointing - dark, old, poorly insulated (lots of kitchen noise from outside and creaky floors from above) and the bathrooms are absolutely shameful....

Good points: Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is in a charming outdoor restaurant and is quite good. Bad points: Dark and poorly designed room with not enough electric light to read. Bathroom was horrible. It had a dark wood floor ( suspended over tiles) that was wet and slippery. Very basic plumbing. No hot water in sink or...

Garden Home is a pleasant, peaceful, clean and a little basic hotel situated only 15 minutes walk from Yangon's No. 1 Sight - the impressive Shwedagon Pagoda. Breakfast is very nice, you get fresh towels every day, and the staff is extremely helpful. What's not to like?

Yangon is not particularly good value for accommodation, and for the regular business traveller on a budget, I needed to find somewhere in a good location for a reasonable price that I feel I can keep coming back to. The Garden Home is certainly not a business hotel, but it suits my needs well, and I can certainly foresee many...

We stayed there two nights, following a famous travel book recommandation. The good points were the excellent breakfast, the bar/restaurant and the friendliness of the people working there. The area of improvement are: - absence of hot water - rudimentary bathroom - very small room for two located just behind the reception (noisy) - unsufficient light in the room -...
