I gave this a high rating based on what I needed in Seoul: just a night of sleep in a clean, cheap room, close to the metro. And for the $30 I paid, this place did exactly that. Location is stellar, a few mins walk from City Hall station (which is serviced by 2 lines), steps away from several restaurants...

Was really surprised at the amenities of this hotel. Great location, only a few minutes walk to the subway. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped with a mini bar, tv and free wifi. The floors are heated too which a big plus especially after a long day of sight seeing. We'd definitely stay here again. Breakfast was included...

I was very disappointed with the quality of this hotel given the amount of money we paid. The shower had no door which got the bathroom all wet anytime taking a bath. Toiletries were not good and soap was unpacked upon arrival, along with used toothpaste, giving me the idea the soap was being reused. This could all be a...

The location is its biggest plus, very convenient, close to Exit 7 of City Hall Stn., but it can be hard to find, on a side street off another side street. Otherwise expect no frills. Room was clean, well heated, but quite cramped. The window is purely for psychological comfort, serves no function. Bathroom was spacious, shower was hot, but...

Cheap, clean, friendly boss and great location. Can't complain about this place at all, does exactly what your want as a budget hotel. Rooms are small but that's the life for the budget solo traveller in a bit city. Very close to metro and airport bus stations

I have no hesitation in recommending the Daewoo Inn. It has a great location, and is close to the subway. The room I had was compact, but was clean and comfortable, with everything I needed. I endorse others' comments on the breakfast which was excellent, and much more varied and tasty than breakfasts I had in 3 and 4 star...

The hotel is easily accessible by airport bus if you are coming from Incheon airport, the bus will stops at The Plaza hotel & just a 5 - 10 mins walk to the hotel. The owner will send you an instruction to reach the hotel before your arrival. The hotel is close to City Hall station & Myeondong, both around...

Traditional Korean-styled bedrooms but with beds, Daewoo inn is clean and comfortable. Though only a 3-star hotel, they have 5-star breakfast included every morning as long as you wake up between 8-9.30am. The friendly owner cooks authentic Korean food like bibimbap, jeon, kimbap etc. but there's also a selection of bread, ham and cheese, cereal and juice. The manager speaks...

Perfect location right in the heart of the city, quiet and clean rooms, fast free wifi. And hotel staff is very friendly and extremely helpful especially Mr.Kim . There is a subway station few minutes away and airport shuttle bus station which makes it easy to get around the city. Opposite hotel there is 7/11 shop and many restaurants. The...

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
