The Imperial Palace (IP) Boutique hotel is located right in the heart of Itaewon, and is walking distance to many very nice bars and restaurants. I paid about USD $155 per night here in January 2014, and based on the experience, I think that is a very good value for this area. The rooms are very comfortable and super clean....

A newer hotel in Itaewon. Right from check-in to check-out, no issues. Everything was very smooth and the staff were very accommodating and helpful. The rooms are clean and bright, the bathrooms are also clean. No grout or stains on tiles/ upholstery. Rooms are quiet and air temperature controls are very responsive. Very interesting lighting in the hallways. A big...

Stayed here for 4 nights back in May. Had been sleeping on a friends floor for a week so decided to treat myself to a nice hotel. The room was a good size with a comfortable double bed, tea making facilities and a lovely bathroom. Nice deep bath too. Oh, and Western tourists will definitely get a kick out of...

Located along a major strip in Itaewon, with lots of shops, restaurants, 5mins walk to Itaewon subway station. Fast free wifi available in the rooms. Good comfortable beds and clean rooms. OK for a couple of nights stay.

We've been to this hotel at December 2012 Christmas time. Since it was Christmas the prices were high but we were lucky to find a room here. The hotel has superb location in Itaewon. Itaewon is one of the best places in Seoul because of the restaurant choices and the bars. Especially in the cold days of Seoul you need...

The IP in Itaewon is a fabulous location for restaurants, subway and the bus to/from the airport. Staff was ever so helpful 24/7. The dark hall ways were a bit unnerving. Keep in mind this hotel is located on Itaewon's busiest street so expect traffic noise. I stayed at this hotel when it was first renovated and I will say...

Located in Itaewon- plenty of good spots to go to that have menus in English. The hotel has a modern appearance, reasonably priced and has decent size rooms. Staff speaks good English especially during the day shift. 2 subway stations about 5 min walk each from the hotel. Out windows were facing the main street but the room was very...

I don't know what some of the other reviewers here are looking for but this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in for a long time. Rooms big enough for 2, good bed, excellent bathroom, heated toilet seat, and nice warn RC air-conditioning. The staff were extremely helpful. No idea about the food as we ate out,...

Staying in Itaewon

Neighbourhood Profile
Itaewon
Neighboring the immense Yongsan American Garrison, Itaewon was once shunned by locals as a seedy, red light district. But within the past few years, Itaewon and its surrounding neighborhoods such as Kyunglidan and Haebangchong have undergone a major revival to quickly become one of Seoul’s hottest areas. Here, trendy international restaurants dot the area alongside hip lounge bars and some of Seoul’s hottest club venues. After dark, Itaewon comes into its own as one of Seoul’s top party scenes. The crowd is a fascinating patchwork of all backgrounds and identities, including a small but thriving Muslim community (centered on Korea’s sole mosque), the LGBT community (with a string of popular bars and clubs), and a wide range of ethnicities and cultures scattered around. Those seeking a quiet respite should head towards the eastern end, in Hannam-dong, which not only has one of Korea’s best art museums, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, but plenty of mid-range to upscale restaurants and cafes.
