We took the subway from Gimpo Airport to Jungno 3 Gai station. Then walked for about 20mins to get to the hotel. At check-in, we were told that they were doing something with the aircond. system, therefore, we couldn't adjust the temperature in our room. Worse, the hotel Wifi was being repair, and it would take 3 days. I was...

Location of the hotel is very good, you can access the subway about 5minute walk. If you feel like having an exercise you can reach the Gyeongbukgong palace about 15-20minutes depending on your pace. Room wise it was expected in regards to the size so i have no complaints about it. I love how they have this heated toilet seats...

Location is great as you can literally walk to most of the sight seeing places, or use their tube (most of the places are only 1 or 2 stops away). 5-10 mins walk from their nearest tube station. As the hotel is located in a rather quiet area facing the river, the road is very dark at night. One good...

I took a chance on this hotel, because of its central location. The hotel room, and services were all basic and yet clean and well taken care of. There is a restaurant, but we ate out to experience city life. There is a convenience store off the lobby which is nice if you want a late snack or something to...

I am currently staying here with friends. The hotel has good location, near subway and korean restaurants. The area has many engliah speaking koreans so asking for directions is easy. The room is ok, comfortable beds. Soap, shampoo, and other basic toiletries are provided.

I must say the room is quite clean, although it takes some time to figure out how to operate the aircon. Basically the hotel seems to be newly renovated, and friendly hotel maid. But basically that is all to the good points of the hotel. One observation; twice, I heard hotel customers complaining about the room temperature. For my case,...

Staying in Gwanghwamun / Jongno

Neighbourhood Profile
Gwanghwamun / Jongno
If Gwanghwamun is the unofficial living room of Seoul, Jongno is the main hallway connecting some of Seoul’s most important historic sites and neighbourhoods. Being one of Seoul’s oldest neighbourhoods, the area is rich with history and culture in its palaces, shrines, and temples. Stand in the centre of Gwanghwamun Square with Gyeongbokgung Palace and Mt. Bugak in front of you, King Sejong the Great statue behind you, and modern office buildings encircling you—it’s one of the best ways to experience both past and present Seoul in one spot. The main street of Jongno is mostly dotted with restaurants and cafes, but explore deeper within its intricate alleys to pass decades-old restaurants, mom-and-pop shops, and pojangmachas (tents that open at night for quick bites and drinks) and life seems to run just as it did a decade or two ago. Don’t forget to stop at Gwangjang Market, Korea’s oldest traditional market, where it’s just as fun to explore as it is to eat the affordable market dishes that locals have been enjoying since the market first opened in 1905. For a break from urban life, walk along the restored Cheonggyecheon Stream that runs parallel to Jongno for a moment of natural refuge in metropolitan Seoul.
