Myself and three other people - including my husband, brother and daughter - stayed in a 3 bedroom suite here in Insadong. Upon arrival, we found out we had been upgraded from a 3 bedroom deluxe to a 3 bedroom executive. The difference between the two rooms is that the second bedroom in the deluxe is technically a 'study', where...

We booked a 3 room suite for a family of five adults for a 2 day stay. We took the AREX train from Incheon airport to Seoul station and changed to subway Line 1 and got off at Jongno-3-ga station exit 5, and a 7 minute walk to hotel. Total cost Won 5,000 each. Not recommended for those with lots...

Just in the middle of Insadong street, this hotel offer a valuable service according to its high level ranking. Rooms are all suites (as from the name) and offer at least one bed room with a separate living room and kitchen corner. Fornitures are nice and the overall environment in warm and comfortable. I've been there twice and I'' be...

I like to stay at places that seems like a home when I travel hotels are generally blasé. I like autonomy as well. After learning about the country I am staying in I might want to cook afterwards. The Fraser suites is more like a home than a hotel. Sure it might not be your brand new dream home but...

We chose this hotel based on the fact that they provide 2-3 bedroom suites with use of the kitchen. We were very happy with our choice: plenty of space, excellent breakfast, nice bathroom and good location.even if needs a short work to Jongno station. Shopping around, time at the swimming pool: every one was happy.

We were disappointed with the general condition of the hotel. The hotel is outdated and does not meet the standards of other Frasers hotels. Amenities in the room was almost non existent with no provision of coffee/ tea etc and there was hardly any toiletries in the bathroom. We had booked a one bedroom suite and requested for a quite...

I booked a 2-bedroom, 2 bath for 3 women to share. The master bedroom had a King bed for two people to share and the other bedroom had 1 twin bed. We even had a humidifier! Our room had a full kitchen, utensils, rice cooker, hot pot (great for making tea), and a huge enclosed balcony on the 16th floor,...

We booked a 3 bedroom deluxe suite for 3 of us travelling together in order to get a room each and two bathrooms. However, in the deluxe suite, the third room is a "study" with no windows. After raising this with reception, we were eventually moved to a 3 bedroom "executive" suite which had three proper bedrooms. It's misleading to...

Family of 5 (3 children) in 3-bedroom suite, penthouse level. Everything provided, although our one night stay didn't allow time to use the kitchen with oven, microwave, dishwasher, full size refridgerator, tableware and cutlery. Also didn't use their combination washer/ dryer. Ideal for longer stays. Used their pool, hottub, cold bath with waterfall massage, steam and dry saunas. Breakfast is...

3 young kids and a summer holiday usually mean beaches and swimming... but they found the indoor pool sufficient, and the hotel stay nice. The 2-bedroom executive room was not very spacious (although it came with a full-length balcony - albeit not an open concept version) but it was enough for out little family. Dining table was good for our...

Staying in Gwanghwamun / Jongno

Neighbourhood Profile
Gwanghwamun / Jongno
If Gwanghwamun is the unofficial living room of Seoul, Jongno is the main hallway connecting some of Seoul’s most important historic sites and neighbourhoods. Being one of Seoul’s oldest neighbourhoods, the area is rich with history and culture in its palaces, shrines, and temples. Stand in the centre of Gwanghwamun Square with Gyeongbokgung Palace and Mt. Bugak in front of you, King Sejong the Great statue behind you, and modern office buildings encircling you—it’s one of the best ways to experience both past and present Seoul in one spot. The main street of Jongno is mostly dotted with restaurants and cafes, but explore deeper within its intricate alleys to pass decades-old restaurants, mom-and-pop shops, and pojangmachas (tents that open at night for quick bites and drinks) and life seems to run just as it did a decade or two ago. Don’t forget to stop at Gwangjang Market, Korea’s oldest traditional market, where it’s just as fun to explore as it is to eat the affordable market dishes that locals have been enjoying since the market first opened in 1905. For a break from urban life, walk along the restored Cheonggyecheon Stream that runs parallel to Jongno for a moment of natural refuge in metropolitan Seoul.
