The hotel was located in the very center of Seoul as is sounded by the traditional manufacture craft street "Insadong" and the ancient "景福宫" Palace was just 10 minutes walking away. The stuff there are very kind and friendly, they provided both Chinese and English service to help us enjoy the trip very well. The only disadvantage was the lack of...

We stayed here for two nights as part of a backpacking trip across Korea. It was incredibly easy to find (one minute walk from Anguk station) and is very close to lots of attractions including the palaces and Bukchon Hanok village. On checking in, there was nobody at the desk so we had to wait about half an hour till...

It's also walking distance from the Gyeongbokgung & Changdeokgung palaces and Bukchon village. - Lots of amenities, such as toothbrush, hair products, etc. - Sufficient hot water - The room is quite clean and comfortable Some cons: - The hotel did...

I stayed at this hotel for one night during NYE because it was within walking distance of the party I wanted to be at and the price was right. Some pros: LOCATION! It's tucked in a little alley in Insadong, very close to Anguk station. I found it quite easy to find, but I've been living in Korea for awhile...

Although for foreigners not easy to find this motel (for me its hotel standard), nevertheless once you got hold of the area (Insadong) a good vicinity. The hotel has hot water, cable TV, air conditioning (during winter you can even have hot air), free tea bags and coffee. Hot water near stair case and free wifi too (that's the beauty...

Yes, this does happen to be a love hotel, one of the pervasive hotels in Korea that couples can rent by the hour. But that isn’t the reason I’m giving Hotel Sarangbang a low review. It actually turned out to be pretty reasonable and had a surprising amount of amenities, an English-speaking staff, and even an in-room computer (which was...

If you love the liveliness of Insadong, then this hotel is right in the mix of things. It's a hotel with good service and amenities. It's in a refurbished building so there is no elevator or lobby. It is cozy and comfortable. The Wi-Fi, hot water, all work well. Everything stated they have. I would come back. It is so...

Mixed feelings about this stay and ultimately I can’t look back and say I enjoyed it. My plane landed at 7am and I arrived at the hotel at 11am to be met with a short sharp greeting “Check in at 2pm”. He made no attempt to see if the room was ready or not. There was no reasoning or discussion...

Staying in Insadong

Neighbourhood Profile
Nestled between Jongno and Samcheongdong, this small neighborhood offers a crash course in various aspects of Korean culture. Rows of shops display traditional Korean goods such as pottery and earthenware, crafts, fans, and more, making it a popular spot for souvenir shopping. The Ssamziegil shopping complex in particular has become a local institution for its unique spiral layout and the many boutique shops inside that sell handmade crafts and goods. This is the perfect neighborhood to sample a range of Korean dishes, with vegetarian Korean temple cuisine restaurants being a popular draw, but street food carts are just as famous. As a top tourist destination, crowds can swell, particularly on weekends, but you can find some rest and respite in one of the private art galleries or grab a cup of Korean tea in a tea house – many of which are located in beautifully renovated traditional Korean homes.
