The hotel is just OK. The location is good: conveniently close to a train station, and is surrounded by plenty of shops & restaurants as there is a university nearby. But the hotel is looking a bit old - it is clean and neat but the furniture and bathrooms looks old. There are new hotels nearby so they will meet...

stayed at this hotel for a couple nights and wasn't really pleased with the value for the price. location is good, near hongdae hotspot and on the main street so i could find the hotel easier. fitness center on the 3rd floor and restaurant in the lobby. the room i got was a smoking room, which is great for me...

Location is good if you want to be close to the hip Hondae area. If you are over 30 you will feel very old on the streets, which are busy throughout the day. Location is also good for the airport - AREX train stops at the nearby Hongik uni station, and limousine bus (number 6002) stops virtually outside the hotel...

Good hotel in the main road and food is also ok. Rooms are quit small and amenities are not so good. We know that soel is quit popular for speedest internet in the world, surprisingly interenet in the hotel is very slow and no wifi. I could not connect the wire interenet and hotel staff also tried, but finally could not connect....

It is close to Hongik university area and also to Seoul subway ( Rail Transit system ).You can see a lot of eating places around this area. They charge around 125 dollars for one night , i am sure that...

Two subway transfers from Seoul Station but it did not take long. The atypical lobby was nice. The room was above average as you would expect in the price range but the breakfast in the morning was outstanding! Great coffee with real cream, omelettes of your choosing, salmon fresh and broiled. I could go on and on.

The staff was pleasant and attentive. The room lacked air conditiong (they provided a fan) and the furniture was chipped with veneer peeling. The location was convenient to the Metro.

I probably won't return to stay at Seokyu Hotel even if I return to Seoul. It has a great location; near to the hongik train station. However, I would rather pay to stay in a guesthouse which is cleaner and cozy.

It is very near Hongik University station on Arex, so it is very convenient for us. The rooms are too small to match its price, especially without breakfast. There are many good restaurants near this hotel.

When I first checked in I was given a smoking room on the 5th floor. This was a problem since I don't smoke. The room reeked of smoke. There were several noticeable cigarette burns in the carpet. I asked to change rooms and they said there wasn't one available until the next day. I thought I would suck it up...

Staying in Hongdae

Neighbourhood Profile
Hongdae
Carefree enthusiasm is everywhere in this energetic neighborhood centered on Hongik University, Korea’s top art school. From its assortment of murals to the occasional amateur street performances, creativity and expression make up the wild and beating heart of vibrant Hongdae. At the Free and Hope Market (weekends at the Hongdae Children’s Playground) you'll find one of Seoul’s most popular handmade and creative markets drawing consistent crowds. At Hongdae, there’s never a shortage of things to do and see; food and drink options are nearly endless as are shops and noraebang (karaoke) rooms. Hongdae is also one of Seoul’s top party and club scenes catering to a younger demographic; if a packed club isn’t your scene, you'll also find a range of music venues and bars offering live music in all genres. Although Hongdae has lost much of its unique appeal and undergone rapid commercialization in recent years, be sure to explore Hongdae’s edges in areas such as Sangsu-dong and Yeonnam-dong where Hongdae’s fiercely independent streak still runs freely.
