We stayed in the Sotetsu Hotel the Splaisir in Myeong-Dong twice on this trip. Upon arriving in Seoul we had booked the hotel and to our amazement it truly was a 5 Star Hotel. We were pleasantly surprised with the level of customer service and attention we received at checking with Mr. Eric Han and Ms. Vickie Park.
They made sure we received the accommodations that we booked and offered their services in every way possible.
We stayed for 4 nights and we did a side trip to Busan.
We asked if we could leave a bag until our return and of course they said yes.
On our return to Seoul we were very excited about coming back to the Splaisir, when we arrived once again we were checked in by Ms Vickie Park in the most friendliest way with superior customer service.
We work for an Airlines in Atlanta, Ga. And have stayed in many hotels but the gentleness and gracious attitude these two individuals provided us will never be forgotten.
The hotel is very spacious and it has a beautiful lobby with restaurants and coffee shop. The entire hotel is immaculate and the rooms and bathrooms are very comfortable and very well kept . The hotel offers a very extensive breakfast buffet with many Korean and Western selections that were worth the price. The dinning area is huge with many tables and super clean.
Very importantly the location of the hotel is a big plus. Across from the hotel walking distance is Namdaemun Market, Shinsegae and Lotte Department Stores, Myeongdong Shopping Street and City Hall right by the Palace.
Our special thanks to Mr.Eric Han and Ms Vicky Park for all their attentions.
We will be returning in the summer and will definitely stay here.

The rooms are dated and the long table in the room is fixed and makes it hard to get in and out. The breakfast buffet quality was average and could definitely be improved to cater to broader palettes. The bed had a firm mattress which was great and the water pressure in the shower was strong.

I think the location is good for those who use Myeongdong or Namdaemun as their base. Myeongdong and the nearest station are both a little far away, and the hotel is up a hill, but Shinsegae Department Store is nearby, and there are many bakeries, cafes, and e-marts, making it convenient. The hotel room was a twin room, not too small, and had separate toilet, shower, and bathtub, and a washlet, which was nice, but the refrigerator was small. The room was not very clean, and it was full of dust, which bothered me. The breakfast looked good, so I would like to try it, and the cakes at the cafe on the first floor looked delicious, and the staff were very helpful, and spoke to me in Japanese, so I asked for a taxi. I would like to stay again if the room was properly cleaned.

My recent stayed at Splaisir Seoul Myeongdong after Busan. The hotel is situated in the heart of Seoul's central business district and close to the vibrant Myeongdong area. Unfortunately, there were some aspects of the stay that left much to be desired.

One notable absence was the lack of a concierge service, which could have added a touch of convenience and assistance to our stay. Despite being located near the bustling Myeongdong shopping district, the absence of a concierge made it slightly challenging to navigate and explore the area efficiently.

Whether due to a booking issue by our Korean agents or a late check-in, all four rooms we were allocated were on low floors. Each room had a different and, unfortunately, small and somewhat awkward layout. One recurring issue was the absence of basic amenities like hangers in the bathroom for towels, making it inconvenient to dry them properly. Additionally, some rooms lacked a sliding door for the toilet, leading to a noticeable chill, especially after showering during the winter.

DIY laundry facilities on B1 provided a practical touch, although it would have been more convenient if basic amenities in the rooms were up to standard.

The continental breakfast offered cold servings of fried rice or overly salty fried noodles. The only redeeming factor was the popular hot station featuring eggs and instant noodles. After the first breakfast, I found it challenging to dine in for the remaining four nights of my stay.

On a positive note, the hotel's location was a highlight. It was within walking distance of the famous Myeongdong shopping district, offering a plethora of dining and shopping options. Additionally, there were many nice restaurants in the vicinity.

In conclusion, Splaisir Seoul Myeongdong's location is undoubtedly its strongest asset. However, improvements in room amenities, breakfast quality, and the addition of concierge services would significantly enhance the overall guest experience.

Room 909, from 11 to 18/09/23.
The bedroom is the characteristic of a desire to maximize profitability at the expense of comfort. 1 double bed and 1 single bed, placed on the floor (no slatted base), which occupies 80% of the space, no desk (forced to put my things on the floor, eat on the bed), no chair, only one bedside table, only one small piece of clothing for one person, only one suitcase rest... You will have guessed that this room should only accommodate one person. I don't see how it's possible for 3 people to live in there.
The blind no longer works: I have to hang the cord on the side to avoid being in the dark.
The bathroom (1 bath, 1 shower and 1 modern toilet) is OK, but there is a smell of pipes at the sink.
No electrical outlet to use the hair dryer and recharge your toothbrush in the room... Really not practical!
The fridge is installed below the safe: don't put anything fragile in there, because it gets hot.
Slippers too big (must be 43) unusable for small sizes, because they have holes in the toes. They should have offered S, M, L.
Very poorly sound-insulated rooms: you will hear your neighbors pacing and objects falling. So noisy.
You are fans of Kakao, ask for a room on floor 14, dedicated to this license.
The only positive point of this hotel: the staff is friendly and it is well located.

We booked the Executive Family room that had 2 queen beds and a hinoki bathtub. Service was topnotch, we had a few problems with the toilet flush and they sent someone up to fix it right away. Special shoutout to Ms. Huh at the front desk for patiently answering our queries. Room was cleaned everyday. Wish they could put more hooks or bars to hang towels and clothes as there was only 1 in the bathroom. Location was nice enough. If it was just us adults then the short walk to Myeongdong would have been invigorating but with small kids it's a bit of an ask. Terrain was hilly and crossing the street meant going underground and back up 3 flights of stairs. The kids got used to it after a while. Would book it again!

I had a terrible experience staying at this hotel. The room was unpleasant, had a strange smell, and lacked air conditioning during the winter season. Additionally, the breakfast selection was unappetizing, and the food was cold and left uncovered. In my opinion, this is one of the worst hotels I have stayed at, and I would advise others to avoid booking here. There are definitely better options available.

I was confined 14 nigths at the Splaisir Sotetsu Seoul. The hotel room, which is obviously all I know from the facility, was fair. It had 3 single bed stack to one anotther without any room to walk between them. I re-arrange the room lifting one of the bed up against the wall to create at least some floor space to strech.
I found the place quite dirty and the 1st day proceeded to cleaning the whole place from floor to bathroom. And indeed it was full of dirt and hairs! I clean again one week into my confinement and gathered only a fraction of the hair and dirt swepth the 1st time: conclusion the room had not been properly cleaned in many, many weeks...
