The Ismailia House Hotel is a backpackers' hotel that caters to both tourists and Egyptians. While it has the worst elevator in Egypt, its rooms are spacious and clean and the staff friendly and honest. You will not be hustled or overcharged. Many rooms have Nile views, and the Egyptian Museum is a very short walk away. The Metro stop...

For the nth times, Me and my 4 friends stayed here for 3 days from September 21-24, 2015. This is a budget hotel in Cairo that one would feel comfort after a day’s tiring Cairo strolling. Everything is just within your reach as this Hotel is situated at Taharir Square. A minute of walk to Cairo Museum, Nile River, Khan...

It seems a bit outdated because i stayed in this budget hotel, say 7 years ago. I choose it due to its location that faces the Tahrir Square. The view from the window or balcony is awesome. From my balcony, I simply love the noise and the mass of humanity in the street. As i stayed during the winter, it...

This hostel was a little difficult to find, but worth it. Rooms facing Tahrir square have the best view of the city and balconies. Location is unbeatable, all buses stop here, there is a metro station right downstairs, and it is the center of Cairo. Rooms are clean and simple, we had one with a bathroom and it was also...

I stayed in this hostel several years ago (2000), but felt compelled to write a review now. I've backpacked quite a bit and stayed in more hostels than I can count, but this one has stayed with me. Take this review with a grain of salt since it's been a decade since I stayed. The room was huge with high...

The hostel was hard to find, the entrance is behind a newspaper kiosk between 2 buildings. We obviously looked lost and were directed to the lift by a friendly neighbour. The lift has a dodgy feel about it, as does most of the building. Once inside the hostel, you might see just how run down the budget rooms are on...
